Close to 1 out of every 7 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lives. Early diagnosis is currently the priority of all screening methods. Clinical report: A 63-year-old man had a prostate-specific antigen value of 8.2 ng/ml, a non-suspicious digital rectal examination, and a previous prostate biopsy that was negative for malignant pathology. He was referred for a multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging scan of the prostate, which identified a pi-rads 4 pattern. Magnetic resonance imaging/transrectal ultrasound (mri/trus) image-guided fusion biopsy with the Artemis system was performed. Four cores were taken from the suspicious site, resulting in the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the prostate, with a Gleason score of 7 (4+3). Conclusion: Through the aid of the Artemis mri/trus image-guided fusion biopsy system in prostate cancer screening, the probability of identifying clinically significant lesions can be increased, the number of cores taken can be reduced, and the probability of identifying prostate cancer in a previously biopsied patient can also be increased, compared with a conventional technique.

As urologists, we must be involved in these new standards, since without an effective vaccine the risk of contagion is high; thus, the purpose of this review is to have orientation on the measures urologists should take in their everyday clinical practice.

From the beginnings of the consumer society until the present day the modernization process has made its imprint on the guidelines public bodies have issued to the public on caring for their health and diet. Beginning in the sixties with a welfare idea of a healthy diet, very typical of the decade, and meant for a population with nutritional problems, today we have guidelines for an overfed population. The social trends dominant in each historical moment are shown throughout this transformation process and the dietary recommendations have been part of the social change. However, the perceptions of the administration itself on what constitutes a healthy diet have also made their mark on the criteria. The modernizing nature of the paternalistic administration of the sixties can be easily seen in contrast with the public bodies of the eighties competing with the messages from the food and agricultural businesses. As the 20th century drew to a close, dietary advice was in keeping with a background dominated by considerations on the nature of social change and in which both public bodies and citizens trusted in the truths of science as a reference point for correct action. At the beginning of the 21st century reflexivity and questioning of scientific power appear and also an increase in public preoccupation with food risks. Each stage is analysed relating historical background and dietary recommendations.Health and food Spanish diet Mediterranean diet Food modernization Food policy

Two types of 'illusion' are common: at one extreme, a 'formalist illusion' which 'treats the sciences as external to the social by giving priority to formal logic over the social relations and material conditions in which scientific works are produced', and at the other, a 'doxological illusion' which 'reduces science and in this case, sociology to a mere reflection or function of determining forces which are external to the field of knowledge' (Alvaraz and Varela 1990, pp 2-3). In our view, the sociological analysis of rural sociology can occupy an intermediate position, examining scientific output in terms of the power relations affecting it in the social, economic, political and cultural spheres. Our explanatory framework for understanding Spanish rural sociology, therefore, is the historical, socio-political and intellectual context within which it was constructed. The early intellectual precursors of rural sociology! emerged in the nineteenth century in response to the great changes in the social relations of production in agriculture. 'The changes brought about in agrarian structures occurred through an alliance between the bourgeoisie and those sections of the nobility who had economic power; this ensured that, from the start, agrarian change acted against the interests of the peasant who was faced with the loss of commonage land and community institutions' (Newby and Sevilla Guzman 1983, pp. 176-77). Certain intellectuals mounted a campaign of criticism against this new situation for the peasants and advocated reform more in keeping with peasants' interests. The most important contribution was that of Florez Estrada' whose work
