In this paper, we prove that: Let G be a k-connected weighted graph with k ≥ 2. Then G contains either a Hamilton cycle or a cycle of weight at least 2m/(k + 1), if G satisfies the following conditions: (1) The weighted degree sum of any k + 1 pairwise nonadjacent vertices is at least m; (2) In each induced claw and each induced modified claw of G, all edges have the same weight. This generalizes an early result of Enomoto et al. on the existence of heavy cycles in k-connected weighted graphs.

A shortage of material for reconstruction is a key limitation. Improving the properties of biomaterials and making them suitable for urethral reconstruction will be helpful. Previously, we constructed a fusion protein, collagen-binding VEGF (CBD-VEGF), which can bind to collagen scaffold, stimulate cell proliferation, and promote angiogenesis and tissue regeneration. We proposed that CBD-VEGF could improve the performance of collagen in reconstruction of extensive urethral defects. Our results showed that collagen scaffolds modified with CBD-VEGF could promote urethral tissue regeneration and improve the function of the neo-urethra in a beagle extensive urethral defect model. Thus, modifying biomaterials with bioactive factors provides an alternative strategy for the production of suitable biomaterials for urethral reconstruction.

The alloys mainly consist of super saturations of Mg in Ti matrix, and some laminar structured Ti- and Mg-rich phases. The PM Ti-Mg alloys contain a homogeneous mixtures of nanocrystalline Mg and Ti phases. The novel microstructures result in unconventional mechanical and biological properties. It has been shown that the PM Ti-Mg alloys have a much lower compression modulus (36-50GPa) compared to other Ti alloys, but still remain a very high compressive strength (1500-1800MPa). In addition, the PM Ti-Mg alloys show good biocompatibility and bioactivity. Mg can dissolve in the simulated body fluids, and induce the formation of the calcium phosphate layer. However, the non-targeted delivery of VEGF decreases its therapeutic efficacy due to an insufficient local concentration in the ischemic myocardium. In this study, we used a specific peptide to modify VEGF and determined that this modified VEGF (IMT-VEGF) localized to the ischemic myocardium through intravenous injection by interacting with cardiac troponin I (cTnI). When IMT-VEGF was used to mediate cardiac repair in a rat model of ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury, we observed a decreased scar size, enhanced angiogenesis and improved cardiac function. This phenomenon is a typical kind of behavior plasticity. Here, we report that COP9 signalosome complex subunit 7A (CSN7A) is involved in the regulation of locust phase transition. Firstly, 90 proteins were identified to express differentially between the two phases by quantitative proteomic analysis. Dithienylethene 1a has shown good photochromic behavior both in solution and in PMMA film. Upon irradiation with 254 nm UV light, its color changed from colorless to blue, in which absorption maxima were observed at 584 nm in hexane and 596 nm in PMMA film. 1a also showed relatively strong fluorescence in different solvents when excited at 292 nm. In addition, photon-mode holographic optical storage using dithienylethene 1b as recording medium was performed successfully.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a model for synergistic target cancer therapy using all-tra... more Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a model for synergistic target cancer therapy using all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO), which yields a very high 5-year overall survival (OS) rate of 85 to 90%. Nevertheless, about 15% of APL patients still get early death or relapse. We performed this study to address the possible impact of additional gene mutations on the outcome of APL. We included a consecutive series of 266 cases as training group, and then validated the results in a testing group of 269 patients to investigate the potential prognostic gene mutations, including FLT3-ITD or -TKD, N-RAS, C-KIT, NPM1, CEPBA, WT1, ASXL1, DNMT3A, MLL (fusions and PTD), IDH1, IDH2 and TET2. More high-risk patients (50.4%) carried additional mutations, as compared with intermediate- and low-risk ones. The mutations of epigenetic modifier genes were associated with poor prognosis in terms of disease-free survival in both training (HR = 6.761, 95% CI 2.179-20.984; P = 0.001) and validation (HR = 4.026, 95% CI 1.089-14.878; P = 0.037) groups. Sanz risk stratification was associated with CR induction and OS. In an era of ATRA/ATO treatment, both molecular markers and clinical parameter based stratification systems should be used as prognostic factors for APL.

Therefore, collagen is a highly promising target for cancer therapy. The collagen-binding domain (CBD) can dynamically bind to collagen and achieve the sustained release of CBD-fused protein in the collagen network. Here, we developed a collagen-binding epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antibody fragment for targeting the collagen-rich ECM in tumors. The single chain fragment variable (scFv) of cetuximab was fused to CBD (CBD-scFv) and expressed in Pichia pastoris. CBD-scFv preserved the antigen binding domain and anti-tumor activity of cetuximab in vitro. Moreover, CBD-scFv displayed a collagen binding ability due to the function of CBD. The results showed that all spectral indices were significantly correlated with NNI. The reflectance spectra of canopy were measured using a field radiometric spectrometer in different vegetation fractions in the different growth stages of cotton. A coefficient α was introduced in the near-infrared band reflectance, it could improve the precision of NDVI through adjusting the dynamic range of near infrared bands in the different growth stages of cot-ton. Therapies comprehensively targeting the multiple inhibitory nature of the injured spinal cord are being concerned. Here, two collagen-binding proteins, CBD-EphA4LBD and CBD-PlexinB1LBD were constructed respectively to neutralize the axon guidance molecules ephrinB3 and sema4D which inhibit the regeneration of nerve fibers. The two neutralizing proteins have been proven their ability to specifically bind the collagen and to continuously release from collagen scaffolds. They could also promote neurites outgrowth of cerebellar granular neurons and dorsal root ganglion neurons in vitro. Therefore, collagen is a highly promising target for cancer therapy. The collagen-binding domain (CBD) can dynamically bind to collagen and achieve the sustained release of CBD-fused protein in the collagen network. Here, we developed a collagen-binding epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antibody fragment for targeting the collagen-rich ECM in tumors. The single chain fragment variable (scFv) of cetuximab was fused to CBD (CBD-scFv) and expressed in Pichia pastoris. CBD-scFv preserved the antigen binding domain and anti-tumor activity of cetuximab in vitro. Moreover, CBD-scFv displayed a collagen binding ability due to the function of CBD. The present study was conducted to analyse the relationships between nitrogen nutrition index (NNI), nitrogen biomass difference (ΔNB) and spectral indices in wheat, and then attempt to improve field N management. Spectral indices and concurrent sample N and biomass parameters were obtained from the Shihezi University experimental site in Xinjiang, China during 2009 and 2010. The results showed that all spectral indices were significantly correlated with NNI. Regression functions with the highest determination coefficient (R2) and the lowest root mean square error (RMSE) were used to improve prediction of NNI, and then the selected spectral index was used to estimate NNI and ΔNB. In this paper the wide dynamic range vegetation index (WDRVI) was proposed to estimate the vegeta... more In this paper the wide dynamic range vegetation index (WDRVI) was proposed to estimate the vegetation fraction (VF) of cotton canopy, to take the place of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) when the canopy vegetation fraction is rel-atively large. The reflectance spectra of canopy were measured using a field radiometric spectrometer in different vegetation fractions in the different growth stages of cotton. A coefficient α was introduced in the near-infrared band reflectance, it could improve the precision of NDVI through adjusting the dynamic range of near infrared bands in the different growth stages of cot-ton. The coefficient α with a value between 0.1 and 0.2, enables the adjustment of the NDVI as the wide dynamic range vegeta-tion index, and the WDRVI can avoid the "saturation" problem of NDVI when it is used to retrieve the cotton canopy informa-tion in various vegetation fractions.
