Kołodziejski in light of new findings. Secondary objective is to gather information on such spurs scattered in polish scientific literature. Analytic research is based on published archaeological artifacts and their scientific descriptions, iconographic sources and scientific description of historical sources. On this basis, it has been shown that the Kołodziejski’s typology correctly depicts formal evolution of medieval rowel spurs and it is proposed to add three more variants to it (L, M and N). Author’s chronological arrangements for the Małopolska region are too narrow and not sufficiently based on source material that it can used in reference of whole territory of the country. Therefore, it is proposed not to date spurs based on either one of the specific variant it represents, but rather presence of formal features characteristic to said variants.
