This paper presents new results which indicate that they may also have significant potential for general purpose arithmetic processing. The paper introduces new arithmetic processing structures for ternary (i.e., +1, 0, or −1) sigma-delta modulated signals. Simulations show that these new structures can be implemented very efficiently and have relatively good accuracy.

However, this is increasingly developing security breaching issues due to the possibility of misuse of unmanned aircraft in illegal activities such as drug smuggling, terrorism, etc. Thus, the detection and tracking of drones are becoming a crucial topic. Unfortunately, due to the drone's small size, its detection methods are generally unreliable: high false alarm rate, low accuracy rate, and low detection speed are well-known aspects of this detection. The new emerging realtime algorithm based on the improved "You Only Look Once" (YOLO-V3) algorithm is proposed here for drone detection. This newly designed algorithm comprises multiple phases and has shown the potential to outperform the traditional detection approaches. The proposed algorithm enhances the performance of YOLO-V3 by designing and building a CNN to solve the problem of a large number of YOLO-V3 parameters, using densely connected modules to enhance the interlayer connection of CNNs and further strengthen the connection between dense neural network blocks, and finally improving the YOLO-V3 multiple-scale detection by expanding the three-scale to four-scale detection to increase the accuracy of detecting small objects like drones. The evaluation results of our algorithm obtain 96% on average precision and 95.60% accuracy.

The tradeoff between the performance of the algorithm and its computational complexity is essential for the implementation of loading algorithms. In this paper, we present a low complexity non-iterative discrete bit-loading algorithm to maximize the data rate subject to specified target BER and uniform power allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the equal-BER loading and achieves similar rates to incremental allocation, yet with much lower complexity.

With correlated narrowband input signals, this model is capable to converge and provide equivalent equalization filter with improvement in the SNR and very low Symbol Error Rate (SER). The input, filter coefficients and output values are all in single-bit and ternary format that results in a reduction in hardware complexity compared to traditional multi-bit channel equalization. Additionally, the technique avoids the need for successive conversion from multi-bit to single bit and back at the receiver and transmitter stages.

The proposed filter response and performance are assessed in terms of signal-to-quantization-noise ratio (SQNR) and stability. It is found that the comb filter possesses a distinct frequency response in broadband signal applications. The same technique is utilized to design and simulate a single-bit N-period digital resonator. Feedback loop filters can be used to tune the frequency response of the Σ ∆ modulators. The proposed design technique is efficient in hardware implementation. I.

It is comprised of a ternary filtering stage preceded by a sigma-delta modulator. Different techniques are used to generate the ternary taps for hardware and performance optimization. Both the input and the output of this DC-blocker are assumed in single-bit format. The proposed DC-blocker can easily be implemented with FPGA.

In this paper, we adopt a practically proven channel model for broadband power line communication and utilize it to study and compare the BER performance of three nonlinear time-domain impulsive noise mitigation techniques: clipping, blanking and clipping/blanking. Three noise environments, namely "heavily disturbed", "medium disturbed" and "weakly disturbed", that are based on practical measurements are used to investigate the performance of impulsive noise reduction schemes by means of computer simulations.

Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is used as one of the compression techniques and it is compared with another compression method, which is Block Truncation Coding (BTC). A comparison between the two methods is carried out in terms of compression factor, and quality of the image. In addition, the effect of multipath on DWT and BTC is studied. Experimental results have showed that BTC method has proven to be more efficient than the DWT method in terms of the above mentioned criteria.

In this paper we propose a single-bit multiplierless DC-blocker structure. The input is assumed to be sigma-delta modulated bitstream. Its performance is investigated in terms of the overall signal-to-noise ratio, the effectiveness of DC removal, and the stability. The proposed structure is efficient for hardware realisation.
