While in designing of residential apartments’ open spaces, there is little attention to the children. The children, who live in the high-rise apartments found to have less physical activities. However, supposedly, children need to engage in the physical activity in the outdoor areas as WHO recommend that children take part in at least one hour of moderate physical activity in every day. This paper firstly, reviews different researches in this area. Then, it attempts to find children’s satisfaction regarding connectivity to open spaces as a dependent variable and their preferred activities, perceived safety, and familiarity about connectivity to open spaces as independent variables. The method of study is a semi-interview survey with 80 children between 6 and 12 years old (primary school ages) in two cases in Tehran. The result of this research shows that children satisfaction from open space has an effect on their outdoor activities. Therefore, the designers should be considering children physical activities needs in open spaces.

This study aims to measure the public attitude toward it with respect to three main attitude components. The survey was carried out using an online questionnaire and non-resident sample. Using exploratory factor analysis, 11 factors were derived, including 7 cognitive factors (security, unit characteristics, spatial reputation, individual and environmental characteristics, physical attractiveness, and social interaction), 2 affective factors (feeling toward physical dimension and feeling toward residents), and 2 behavioral factors (social distance and situational behavior). Descriptive analysis may show that the attitude toward LIH is negative in Iran. Among them, physical factors related to the environment and building have the lowest scores. Thus, it is necessary to pay more attention to the reduction of LIH stigma with more interventions in the physical aspect. The regression test showed the highest correlation between the "social distance" and "feeling toward physical aspects," whereas the highest correlation was observed between the "situational behavior" and "feeling toward residents". It means outsiders are further influenced by physical factors when making distancerelated decisions. When they are in a situation with exposure to these housings, their feelings toward the residents are more important and are reflected.

In the process, significant quantities of natural resources or greenery in the urban areas have declined. Nevertheless, significant evidences from research show that contact with nature via open spaces is important for city dwellers, especially children. It is argued that children's relationship with nature is a fundamental to developing their full potential. Previous research also shows lack of playing spaces close to their urban homes and parent-limited opportunity to play outdoors. The situation has resulted less active children, lack of access to open spaces and less mobility in playing places. Lack of connection between children and nature has a physiological and psychological effect on children. Therefore, this study looks into the issue of high-rise open spaces and specifically tries to answer research questions re...

In each region, houses change over time under different economic, social, cultural, climatic, and other conditions. Although these gradual changes have occurred to improve the spatial conditions of houses, it has led to a decline in the environmental quality and sometimes their technical efficiency. It is possible to redefine contemporary housing by spatially analyzing houses and discovering genotypes in a particular climate. This study uses space syntax algorithms in the syntactic plugin in Grasshopper to conduct various analyses and combine them with visual analysis extracted from Depth Map. House genotypes are discovered by factor analysis in SPSS. The case study is the coastal and historical city of Bushehr in the south of Iran. The sample size is 45 houses from 3historical periods selected by non-random purposeful sampling. The results indicate that the houses in Bushehr have 4genotypes, each of which has positive characteris...

Such events shape memory “traumascapes” and cause changes in mental schemas and as a result, altering decisions and behavioral responses in long-term familiar environments. Because, in the disaster-affected communities, psychological recovery will be greatly influenced by residential experiences. Design/methodology/approach The current research was performed with a qualitative and multicase study design, and data were collected using deep and semistructured private interviews and discussions in f...

In such a situation, reviewing and paying special attention to these spaces together with closed spaces in Tehran is really necessary. But this question is proposed that what are the indicators affecting the quality of open and semi-open spaces in contemporary housing? And how much do they affect the quality of these spaces? This research has a mixed (quantitative-qualitative) method which is applied in terms of purpose, and in terms of data collection method it is of descriptive-analytical and survey type. The statistical population includes 380 inhabitants in resident...

Sufficient understanding based on environmental and behavioral sciences leads to the prediction of needs and preparedness. Given the role of housing and the environment on health, awareness of their effects on the COVID-19 pandemic will facilitate future actions and risk management planning. METHODS: The present cross-sectional exploratory study was conducted based on a mixedmethod approach. In the qualitative section, participants who were selected by non-probability sampling method were interviewed via phone, and data collection continued until data saturation using the snowball method. A number of 27 telephone interviews were conducted and after the content analysis of unorganized data, the questionnaire was developed in three parts, the initial pilot was conducted on 30 participants, and Cronbach's alpha was calculated at 0.76. Moreover, 144 online questionnaires were co...
