As gateways to knowledge and culture, libraries play a very important role in promoting the progress of knowledge. Libraries are also important indicators of growth and development of a country or society. They provide scientific services, fulfill social needs, and help individuals/organizations to flourish. Library also plays a vital role in academic and research system and that is why library is considered to be the ‘heart’ of educational / research system. Therefore, there is a need of public library services as a social institution, where everybody from cradle to grave that is form all sections and settings of the society have the access to knowledge irrespective of their economic status across the country for the purpose of information, education, recreation and preservation of cultural heritage. Library legislation plays an important role in the provision of public library services in states. In Odisha, itwas passed by the Legislative Assembly of Odisha in 2001, but unfortunately it has not yet implemented. Keeping into above facts, this paper elaborates the responsibilities of public libraries and library professions for the society and discussed about the current status of public libraries in Odisha with the opportunities and challenges.

The subject of solid and liquid waste management has remained neglected in India, mainly on account of lack of priority to the subject. Paucity of funds, lack of technical knowhow, inadequate human resources, and apathy of citizens to maintain cleanliness has all contributed to reasons of inadequacy in service. Institutional weakness and lack of enforcement have added to the problems of waste management and the situation is becoming critical with the passage of time (Malhan & Sethi, 1987). Solid and liquid waste management has a direct impact on tourism industry which is being aggressively promoted for economic development. It is the fact that about 0.40kg per capita per day of municipal solid waste is generated in the urban areas. Similarly, about 150 of per capita per day sewage waste are also generated. For bio-methanation and energy generation. Development, operation & maintenance of centralized waste management system to tackle liquid & solid waste generated from institutions and domestic is one of the difficult tasks due to technical, socio–economic and logistic constraints (Garg, (2006).). Though part of domestic and institutional waste is collected and treated in a central treatment unit, major part of the domestic and institutional sewage and solid waste generated is yet to be tackled.

The specialties of most of the Orissa festivals are that, on these occasions, much merry¬making is done, new clothes are worn and special dishes are prepared at home. The Orissa cuisine is at its test in these functions. Delicious dishes prepared include small cakes known as Pitha' and also sweets made from milk. 'Traditional Food ' might sound boring, since of late there has been an increasing trend to consume or cook foodstuffs which are trendy or are promoted by big brands. Well, these are fine once in a while but alarmingly, these are fast replacing the traditional diets on a routine basis besides causing serious health problems. On a contrary, traditional meals have been developed with time and methods of cooking preserved through years keeping in mind the usefulness of ingredients. These dishes aren't just a part of our culture but are also a storehouse of nutrients. In Each festival, there is a certain type of food which have Nutritional value, Socio-cultural, seasonal impact with relation to Culture and heritage of the common man some of them being very rare and typical grandma's recipes which our children may never be able to relish. Ironically many of these are also being reintroduced as health foods. But the fact is that it's a legacy we have inherited and should preserve it. It should not be confined to temple Prasad or to be consumed on select occasions only. Mothers and homemakers should try and introduce as many. The Cope of this paper is to make alive this cuisine in the Modern era

The objective is to use Indian cuisine as one of the key factors that bring in more numbers of international tourist footfalls. Currently research on tourist perceptions about Indian cuisine reveals that they consider it to be excessively spicy, oily and prepared under unhygienic conditions and hence unpalatable. Such misconceptions are particularly prevalent amongst those who are unaware of Indian cuisine, its diversity, ingredients and methods of preparation. A qualitative methodological approach was adopted in this paper using both secondary and primary data. Anger can be a good thing. It can give you a way to express negative feelings or motivate you to find solutions to problems. However, excessive anger can cause problems. Increased blood pressure and other physical changes associated with anger make it difficult to think straight and harm your physical and mental health (Kazdin, 2000). Like any emotion, it is turning over a message, telling you that a circumstance is upsetting, unjust, or threatening. If your kneejerk reaction to anger is to explode, however, that message never has a chance to be conveyed. Therefore, while it is perfectly normal to feel angry when you have been mistreated or wronged, anger becomes a problem when you express it in a way that harms yourself or others. If you have a hot temper, you may feel like it is out of your hands and there is little you can. Workplace anger is not only potentially harmful to the organization, but it can also cause serious Psyco-Socio problems, including chronic anxiety, depression, high blood pressure and heart disease. Confusion in role-play in Teaching-Learning process. The increasing rate of workplace violence, job Dissatisfaction poses a challenge to library managing professionals to find effective ways of preventing, diffusing and managing anger at work. The rising level of anger and frustration among workers can be attributed to a number of factors that include the prevalence of downsizing, reform and re-engineering; the impersonal aspects of organizational structure that give rise to dominant supervisors and alienate employees; an organizational culture that is suppressive and promotes fear; negative performance feedback that makes employees apprehensive, defensive and fearful; employees' personal problems; and employees' substance abuse. Libraries can minimize the risk of workplace violence by carefully conducting pre-employment screening, implementing a clear policy regarding threats and related actions, and terminating problem employees in a sensitive manner.
