It has affected both males and females, but the incidence is higher in males than in females worldwide. Evidence Acquisition:: According to the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination of Pakistan, the female infection rate is much lower than the male infection rate in Pakistan (3.6% vs. 6.7%, respectively). What are the main possible reasons that created gender disparity in COVID-19 incidence in Pakistan? We reviewed different factors that created gender disparity in COVID-19 Incidence in Pakistan. Results:: The biological differences, social, professional, religious, psychological factors, cultural, and lifestyle aspects have created a gender disparity in COVID-19 incidence in Pakistan. Conclusion:: This study mainly focused on the main possible reasons (mentioned above) that COVID-19 has affected men more than women...

Total length (TL) range of the collected 1520 specimens were 26 to 70 cm and weight (W) 329 to 2758 g. The relationship of length and weight was W= 0.3409L, R= 0.9987). The von Bertalanffy growth model parameters were L∞= 73.75 cm and K= 0.30 yr , hypothetical age at zero length of t0= 0.3922 years and goodness of the fit of Rn= 0.112. The natural mortality rate at average annual water surface temperature of 22 C was 0.5651 yr. The total mortality was 1.31 yr while fishing mortality was 0.745 yr and the current exploitation ratio 0.57. The Beverton-Holt yield per recruit model was done by FiSAT-II in which when tc was 1 the Fmax was estimated at 0.95 yr -1 and F0.1 was 0.8 yr . Current age at the first capture was approximately 1 year, Fcurrent= 0.745 yr which is smaller...

This might be due to the overexploitation as the capture of fish often goes beyond maximum sustainable yield (MSY) value of our existing resources. Moreover, low profit, lack of resources and improperly trained fishermen are the main factors which are responsible for the decreased capture fisheries production in Pakistan. Although there is an increasing trend in the export of fish, however, the rate is very low. Thus, the economic contribution of capture fisheries in Pakistan is gradually declining which must be controlled through effective measures.

The catch and effort data of 19-years (1991 – 2009) were analyzed by computer software package CEDA (Catch and Effort Data Analysis). MSY was estimated using the initial proportion (IP) value of 0.8 because the starting catch was approximately 80% of the maximum catch. Estimated MSY values with the Fox, Schaefer and Pella Tomlinson models under two error assumptions of normal and log-normal were 3 642t (R = 0.681) and 4 830t (R = 0.692), and 4 223t(R =0.676) and 4 583t (R =0.682), respectively. Gamma error assumption showed minimization failures for all models. The estimated values of MSY from CEDA were about 3 600 4 800 t. In conclusion, the estimated MSY values were lower than the most recent catch revealing that the stocks are overfished.

Pakistan has a very fertile biodiversity due to the presence of all types of habitats consisting of about 197 taxa of reptiles including lizards, snakes, turtles, tortoises, crocodiles and gavels. Reptiles have a key part in maintaining of the world's ecosystem. Lizards are diverse group of squamate reptiles having roughly 6000 species, present all over the world with the exception of Antarctica. The present research work was carried out on the diversity and distribution of lizard fauna in Tehsil Samar Bagh, District Dir (Lower), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan during April 2014 to August 2016. For collection of maximum information regarding the distribution and occurrence of different lizards, local people were interviewed. Various methods were used for trapping and catching the lizards like seething traps, noose traps and hand collection. In the present study, a...

The Swat valley possesses a variety of suitable environmental conditions, providing different types of habitats for both flora and fauna. Taken into consideration these points, the present study was conducted to explore the terrestrial snails diversity in agricultural and non-agricultural fields in the lower Swat valley. A total of 417 shells were collected from three sites: Kokarai, Kanju Township, and Deolai. Based on conchological features, three families: Bradybaenidae, Hygromiidae, and Zonitidae were identified using different terrestrial snail keys. In Kokarai and Deolai, shells of members of all the above-mentioned families were found from agricultural fields. In Kanju Township, shells of members of the family Bradybaenidae and Zonitidae were found. From these findings, it was concluded that district Swat possesses a significant malacofauna wh...

Over the past few decades, nanomaterials have attracted researchers from different fields because of their high surface-to-volume ratio and other unique and remarkable properties. Cobalt and cobalt oxide nanoparticles (NPs) have various biomedical applications because of their distinctive antioxidant, antimicrobial, antifungal, anticancer, larvicidal, antileishmanial, anticholinergic, wound healing, and antidiabetic properties. In addition to biomedical applications, cobalt and cobalt oxide NPs have been widely used in lithium-ion batteries, pigments and dyes, electronic thin film, capacitors, gas sensors, heterogeneous catalysis, and for environmental remediation purposes. Different chemical and physical approaches have been used to synthesize cobalt and cobalt oxide NPs; however, these methods could be associated with eco-toxicity, cost-effectiveness, high energy, ...

They were euthanized with the help of Chloroform (CHcl3) solution. The biometry each specimen was measured, then dissected to examine for helminth parasites and foodstuff. All helminths were isolated, washed with normal saline at room temperature, and then preserved in 70% GL ethyl alcohol. Later on, the parasites were classified and studied under the electric compound microscope. In a total of 30 specimens, 17(56.66%) were found infected with 62 helminths parasites belongs to four different species. Among four species, one was Cestodes Nematotaenia dispar species and remaining three were Nematodes i.e. Cosmocerca species, Cosmocercoides (Raillietnema species) and Strongyloides species. Cosmocerca with a percentage of 56.45% was the most dominant. In the total ...
