The aim of the article is to present older people's opinions on the contemporary Polish langu... more The aim of the article is to present older people's opinions on the contemporary Polish language and the changes occurring in it. The research material comes from a survey conducted in a group of 43 people aged 57 to 83. Older people show a keen interest in what is happening in today's Polish. This is confirmed by the results of the questionnaire as well as by the willing participation of respondents in the survey. Seniors react vividly to current phenomena taking place in the language. They are able to indicate them, evaluate and offer comments on them.

The given dividing line was admitted for this reason, that only after 1945 Kashubian language had a chance to appear in all means of mass media. Also contemporary perspective tendencies of Kashubian media are included in the article.

On 10 November 2017 the II scientific conference "Mirror of Media" entitled „Google - Universe of... more On 10 November 2017 the II scientific conference "Mirror of Media" entitled „Google - Universe of Freedom or Oppression" was held in Gdańsk. It was organized by Institute of Culture of the Jagiellonian University, Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Journalism of the University of Gdańsk, European Solidarity Center and Pomeranian Scientific Institute. The conference was a forum for exchanging views and presenting research results on the cultural and marketing dimension of Google. The event also provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues such as media economics and social communication.

It contains a short outline of the history of Kashubian media, Kashubian lexicography and normalization activities related to specialized vocabulary in that language. The second part of the article contains the characteristics of the media lexis in terms of semantic, morphological and etymological. The text was also published in the Kashubian version.

The thesis of this article is the assumption that, due to the rapid changes in today's world, Kas... more The thesis of this article is the assumption that, due to the rapid changes in today's world, Kashubian language creates some new terminology associated with mass media, the specificity of the work of journalists, and the recipients of press, radio, television and the internet. The term "media vocabulary" means: personal names of producers and consumers of media content (eg. journalist, television viewer), the names of types of media and journalistic genres (eg newspaper, feuilleton), the names of various activities related to journalism (eg broadcast) device names and other terms concerning themes of mass media (eg subscription, kiosk). Title of the article "Gazétny słowôrz" can be translated into English as "Journalistic dictionary". It defines the fundamental purpose of the article - attempt to determine the quantity and quality of journalistic vocabulary in the Kashubian language, based on the latest dictionaries and „Pomerania” magazine content.

This article attempts to analyze the occurrence of adjectives defining the names of colors in Kas... more This article attempts to analyze the occurrence of adjectives defining the names of colors in Kashubian lyrical works, published in 30 issues of the literary magazine "Stegna" of the years 2006-2013. The research material are 49 poems and songs written by the majority of contemporary Kashubian artists. The results are presented in accordance with the division of color names proposed by Brent Berlin and Paul Kay in the book "Basic Color Terms: Their Universality and Evolution".
