We have an oak buffet table bought probably about fifteen years ago, at the time I thought my taste in furniture would never change. But it has! There is nothing wrong with this sideboard but it just doesn’t feel like me anymore... I causally mentioned painting it purple to my husband. I am delighted to say he agreed. I've stripped and sanded down this dark sideboard first.

Next, I applied paint wash and let it dry overnight! That part is essential if you don't want the top coat to pull the colour off. Finally, I applied three coats of my favourite top coat. I let the first coat dry overnight, even though it dries in about an hour.
