Not commercially published until 1936. RISM lists a ms copy by Johann Heinrich Michel, who died in 1848, so it was copied out by 1848, suggesting that perhaps by the Montezuma rule it is PD...?
"1735, Frankfurt" from his estate catalogue (described as "NachlaĂź-Verzeichnis" or "NV 1790" in the cpebach.org preface), where the sonata is listed as a "solo", not a sonata. Manuscripts for CPE Bach's works (solos, sonatas,...) for flute and continuo resurfaced in 1999 when the archives of the Singakademie zu Berlin, "lost since World War II" (according to the preface of the CPE Bach edition), resurfaced- 11 works almost all only known in one source otherwise.
