Due to recent developments at the area of communication and information technologies new possibilities are arising for production of space. Cyberspace is the key term argued currently regarding the production of the new space.  The term cyberspace coming from two words cybernetics and space was first coined by William Gibson, a cyber punk novelist, in his book Neuromancer. This new realm providing “space” for real communication in virtual space, includes many new tools for the possibility of “new space” experience. The design problematic starts at this point. How does the physical space and cyberspace come together and within which possibilities they can co-exist. In another way, can the pattern of relationship of these two spaces (physical space and cyberspace) extract a new understanding of space? And in the context of this new understanding of space, can we develop a new point of view for the architectural design problematic.
Aesthetic phenomenon can be explained through the means of experience, discovery, getting in to relation, production of sensation, rereading as text and hermeneutics.  The authentic experience of a place, its multilayered and narrative structure and the pattern of relationships within this place accounts for the aesthetic phenomenon of space.  The infinite layered structure of cyberspace, the patterns of relationships regardless of the geographic location, point out a new trans-aesthetic condition. But confronting this infinite layered structure can cyber space provide a new sense of place?
The main goal of this article to discover the possibilities of a new space by overlapping physical space and cyberspace, and in this process of discovery, to understand the conditions one space dominating the other and to form a new understanding within a holistic point of view in the context of pattern of relationships between cyberspace and physical space to the aesthetic experience phenomena.

Sibermekan olgusu sanal kent, bilgi otoyolu ve benzeri metaforlarla ifade
edilirken, bu ani ve hızlı teknolojik devrim karşısındaki şaşkınlık ve duyulan
heyecan, birçok kavramın birbirinin yerine kullanılması, bir bilgi ve
kavramlar karmaşasına neden olmaktaydı.“İnternet”, “Sanal Gerçeklik”,
“Siber Mekan”, ”Sanal Alem” kavramları adeta birbirinin içine geçmiş ve
giderek bu kavramların içerdiği anlamlarda birbirinin içine geçişmeye
başlamıştı. Aslında bugün dahi birçok çevre tarafından bu kavramlar
birbirinin yerine kullanılmakta ve aynı anlam karmaşası ve kayması devam
etmektedir. Bu yanlış kullanımlardan en genel olanı “sibermekan”
kavramınınçoğu zaman internet yerine kullanılmasıdır. Evet, internette
sörf yaparken sibermekandayızdır ancak sibermekanda olmak her zaman
internette olmak anlamına gelmez. Bir diğer çelişkili durum ise sanal-
gerçek kavramları ele alındığında görülebilir. Çoğu zaman iki karşıt kavram
gibi kullanılan bu iki olgu yani sanallık ve gerçeklik gerçekten birbirinin zıttı
durumları mı ifade eder? Peki, bu durumda sanal-gerçeklik kavramını hangi
bağlamda açıklayabiliriz? Makalenin bundan sonraki bölümlerinde bu
kavramların içerikleri tartışılacaktır.
Sibermekan Nedir?

Representation in architectural design education is critical when using imagination as the clear significant motivation, establishing the relationship between meaning, concept and form. Architecture is anywhere that time, space and life exist. In this context, it is crucial to teach the necessary ways of thinking, perceiving and finally representing to convey the ability of establishing multi-sided and flexible relationships. In this case study, “light” is considered as an important architectural and urban component through three-dimensional modeling and computer-aided presentation techniques. The effects of light in the urban environment through the case studies of Bakırköy and Kadıköy shall be studied by the students of architecture and the results shall be interpreted from the point of light in architectural and urban design. The limits in architecture are on debate in recent years, since architecture has been
considered as a substantial entity. Inquiries using substantialist approach, however, are varied where substantialist approach emerged more into a sort of eclecticism. However, it is possible to inquire limits in architecture through a transactional point of view. Besides, if we assume that there is a limit between x and y, x stands as the reason of y`s becoming. In this regard, limit cannot be positioned outside a relational structure. If we define the relationship as a separate entity from x and y, it may only appear as transactional but it is, in fact, actually focused on a substantialist consideration. Besides, in case of acknowledging that there is a relation between x
and y as a third entity, pseudo-transactional approach emerges, which is also substantialist. For this reason, this research is to inquire limits in architecture according to transactional approach versus to substantialist one by referring to critical theories. Blurring, as an act, seeks to undermine the well-defined limits in architecture within frequently referred notions and binaries, where an “in-between” space emerges. In order to understand the term “blurring” for an architectural inquiry of limits, three exemplars are chosen, defining three acts: altering, transforming and transgressing. When a (substantialist) limit is altered, transformed and/or transgressed by blurring, it would provide a dynamic consideration, suggesting a new way of thinking in architecture.

Acknowledging how disciplinary boundaries helped us to generate definitions throughout the history, today demands a new understanding of the world which is more about the relations rather than divisions. How to understand and acknowledge these relations and what outcomes are to be held by blurring the disciplinary boundaries have become significant in current studies. The approach, in fact, should not be considered only as the method but cogitated as a pivotal part of a research. This study is a critical inquiry on substantialist approach in general, with an aim to discuss `so-called` relational approaches. Comprehending the concept of “relational “and how to actualize a relational approach are crucial for a research, in which a relation might appear as an illusion rather than a connection. The problematique appears when the relations are defined beyond a relational context as if these relations happen outside of fundamentals- which is suggested to be named as “pseudo- relational” through this article. As an example, if we assume that there is a limit separating the fundamentals x and y from each other, both x and y stand as the reason of the other one`s becoming. If relation is defined as a distinctive entity besides x and y, it would only appear as relational while it is essentially substantialist. In other words, when the relation between x and y is considered as a third entity, relation stands in a sort of eclecticism. That sort of inquiries are interpreted as relational, however, they should be addressed as substantialist or outlined as “pseudo-relational”. Hence, what is meant by pseudo-transactional or pseudo-relational is a sort of illusion in which a thing is not what it really is. Within this point of view, this paper is to inquire transactional (relational) approach versus to substantialist one, referring to critical theories in regard to a trans-disciplinary understanding.

The COVID-19 global health crisis has spatial implications concerning social isolation to control the spread of the virus. The preventive measures require travelers to stay in mandatory quarantine for 14 days upon arrival from another country. Due to a shortage of government facilities, more hotels have started to function as quarantine facilities. This research focuses on quarantine hotels in Australia, as one of the first countries to implement an international border restriction, to evaluate the spatial needs of users and what see outcomes can be identified. By primarily focusing on hotel users’ well-being during the isolation period, this paper responds to an information gap regarding the quarantine hotel system by providing user opinions on the negative and positive factors affecting their well-being. Bu çalışma, İstanbul'da bir üniversitenin lisans programında seçmeli ders olarak yer alan "Yapı Bilgi Modelleme" isimli teknoloji dersini açıklamaktadır. Bu dersin amacı, temel Yapı Bilgi Modelleme (YBM) bilgisinin tasarım sürecinde nasıl kullanılabileceğini tanımlamaktır. Bu dersi 2007-2015 yılları arasında yaklaşık 500 öğrenci almıştır. "Yapı Bilgi Modelleme" dersinin, içeriği ve dersin ürünleri üzerinden tartışıldığı bu çalışmada dersin değerlendirmesini yapmak üzere ayrıca bir anket hazırlanmış ve dersi almış olan öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışma, YBM ve mimarlık eğitimi üzerine tartışmalar sunmaktadır.

The subject of the present paper is a course called " Building Information Modeling, " compulsory in an undergraduate architecture program of an İstanbul university. The aim of the course is to describe how basic BIM knowledge can be used throughout the design process. Approximately 500 students have taken this course between 2007 and 2015. The content and products of the course are discussed. A survey was developed to evaluate the efficacy of the course, and results are reported. The importance of BIM in architectural education is also discussed.

Full physical adequacy for individuals is a temporary condition. Everyone has some limitations on the part of his life. Disabled people have some special needs. However, design for disabled are still made generic. The conventional methods are used to control the design and results are not satisfactory. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is such a good option to control the design. In this study, a method that analyzes the living spaces by using BIM model was developed. While using proposed model, it is possible to define all incompatibilities properly and use them as design feedback to create effective living spaces for wheelchair users.
