Fountain's Green Grow-Cery on Instagram: "Mums tips you need to think about:

🍂unless you need a big pop of color now, buy mums in the bud stage to prolong their bloom life. Deadheading also helps as needed.
🍂never water over the top. Always water at the base of the plant OR get a bucket of water and let the mums soak it up from the root system. When you pick the pot up and it is heavy, it doesn’t need water. If the pot is light, give it a drink.
🍂mums are perennials. So once the season is done, find a spot in your yard to plant it and enjoy for years to come." Potted Mums, Bucket Of Water, Deadheading, Big Pops, Root System, Fall Porch, Pop Of Color, Over The Top, The Plant

If you don’t have enough soil to retain the moisture, it’s not going to help long-term. Repotting your mum in an even slightly larger pot will help tremendously. Your mum will require much less water, and create a stronger root system should you want to plant in ground at the end of the season. Check out my Mum Care highlight bubble for all my mum tutorials.
