Here’s how I flipped this piece in no time (and how you can too!):

1️⃣ Strip & Sand: First things first, strip that old finish and sand smooth.

2️⃣ Bleach with Oxalic Acid: This is where the orange starts to vanish. Oxalic acid brightens up the wood like magic. 💥

3️⃣ Hand Sand: Yes, we’re sanding again to make it smooth and ready after raising the grain.

(A D) Here’s how I did it! + removed all the brass hardware & accents + scraped off all the old varnish with my carbide scraper + sanded off the remaining finish with 120 grit, working my way up to 220 + applied @realmilkpaintco wood wax into the inside of the chest to moisturize & renew the wood!
