Barolo

Barolo is a red Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) wine produced in the northern Italian region of Piedmont. It is made from the Nebbiolo grape and is often described as one of Italy's greatest wines. Der Barolo ist ein trockener Rotwein aus Norditalien in der Region Piemont. Namensgebend ist die Gemeinde Barolo, die sich ca. 15 km südlich von Alba befindet. Er zählt neben dem Brunello di Montalcino und dem Amarone della Valpolicella.
