Sibia Torres Padilla | DIYs on Instagram: "These beautiful coffee filter marigolds are a fun craft. My mom taught me how to make them when I was a little girl, and now I get to pass on the tradition to my kids—and to you!

We used to make them with string but my friend @hauz.and.co shared how she staples hers and it’s been a game changer! Check her out

Materials Needed:
- 8-10 coffee filters per flower
- Water/food coloring mixture (in shades of yellow and orange)
- Stapler
- Scissors

Instructions
1. Grab a stack of filters. Fold them in half 3 times and cut a scalloped edge.

2.Dip your coffee filters into a water/food coloring mixture. Let them soak for a few seconds until the color spreads. You can mix shades of yellow and orange for a vibrant, realistic marigold look. It's great for some many reasons…with a bag of 150 qty from the 99 cent store you can make 21 flowers from the bag for $1-1.50. When I made the most loved arch on my page, I would say I probably made over 200 flowers, under 400? I can’t quite recall now after 3 years, but I do remember the process being quite easy. Well it’s that time of year when we’re all pretty much OVER WINTER. It’s only fun for so long… until it’s not fun. It’s just cold. I’m not usually one to complain about winter (especially when I’m snowboarding), but lately I keep catching myself daydreaming about balmy days… the girls…

Gladys Padilla💫🌻🌙☀️ on Instagram: "🌼DIY Coffee Filter Marigolds 🌼✨ These cute flowers are so easy to make! Just mix water and a splash of vinegar with orange dye. We only used four drops of dye and our marigolds weren’t as bold as we wanted, so definitely add more! 🧡 Fold filters in half and cut a scalloped edge. Dip your coffee filters in the mixture then let them dry for about 24 hours. After they dry, stack about 8 filters and staple them together in the center, then scrunch and twist them into shape. My Luke helped, making the whole process even more fun! This is the perfect little project for fall decor or your Día de los Muertos altar which is what we’ll be using them for.🌼
