Skinny trees are still a Christmas tree. So they should maintain that triangle shape. I notice a lot of times when someone is decorating a skinny tree they get a little out of control with the tree topper and all of a sudden the tree topper is bigger than the base of the tree. You can do whatever you want, but in my opinion, what makes a skinny tree look so amazing is when the shape is honored. There are larger ornaments at the bottom and it cascades to smaller ornaments at the top. Also add longer picks for texture. She prefers smaller trees because they are much easier to put away after the holidays, and she does not particularly enjoy decorating, so I am happy to do it for her.
