Hay manger for horses

If I did not already own a Hayhut, I would build this. Feeds one round bale or six to eight square bales. All treated wood, solid roof sheathing, keeps hay off the ground, virtually eliminates waste and spoilage. Every edge is chamfered for horse safety. Built on skids, the unit is completely portable, so I can move it to fresh ground or another field anytime, pulling it with a pickup truck. It wasn't cheap, but it has paid for itself in savings in hay.

With the right tools you'll be able to whip together this DIY pallet hay feeder in no time. It's a perfect feeder for goats and is great for the small farm or homestead. Nothing like a budget farm project!

So here's the progress report on the new barn. The goat stalls are finished. These consist of a main stall about 16X10' for day use and next to it a 16X6' stall to put kids in overnight when I'll be milking the does in the morning.
