It is based on the book The Unbreakable Boy: A Father's Fear, a Son's Courage, and a Story of Unconditional Love by Scott Michael LeRette and Susy Flory, which is based on a true story.

THE SERIES FOLLOWS  

Malachi Kirby's Hezekiah Moscow, who finds himself plunged into the vibrant and violent melting pot of post-industrial revolution London's East End from Jamaica. Drawn into the criminal underbelly of the thriving boxing scene, he meets Mary Carr, (Erin Doherty), leader of The Forty Elephants, the notorious all-female London gang, as they battle for survival on the streets. As Hezekiah sharpens his new skills, he comes up against Sugar Goodson (Stephen Graham), a seasoned and dangerous boxer, and the two  are soon locked into an intense rivalry that spills out way beyond the ring. Steven Knight's drama also stars Francis Lovehall as Hezekiah's best

The latest news over from Channel 5 is that handsome rascal Matthew Lewis has been set as the lead star in the brand new murder mystery drama series MURDER BEFORE EVENSONG

based on the debut novel of Reverend Richard Coles. Matthew will play Canon Daniel Clement, who lives in Champton rectory with his opinionated mother, Audrey. When Daniel announces a plan to install a lavatory in the church, the parish is suddenly (and unexpect-  edly) divided. As lines are drawn and long-buried secrets threaten the village’s apparent calm, events take a deadly turn. Canon Daniel Clement becomes embroiled in a murder case when a cousin to the church’s patron is found stabbed in the neck with a pair of secateurs. If I got it right in USA the series will stream on Acorn TV.

After Rebus and Maigret, the latest classic detective to get a TV series reboot is BERGERAC and UKTV has sent us the first trailer for the new series. The six episode reboot will arrive in February to U and U&DRAMA free streamer. Taking the leading role of Jim Bergerac is Damien Molony alongside Zoë Wanamaker as Jim’s mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford, and Philip Glenister as Arthur Wakefield. Further cast include Pippa Haywood, Robert Gilbert, Sasha Behar, Timothy Renouf  and Celine Arden.

 

THE MODERN RE-IMAGINING
will honour the iconic detective drama, but with a contemporary twist. Unlike the original hit from the 80s, the new series will see one character-led murder mystery run across all six episodes. Viewers will meet Jim Bergerac as a broken man, grappling with grief and alcoholism following his wife’s recent death. His mother-in-law, Charlie, is concerned Jim isn’t putting his daughter Kim first and, when a woman from a wealthy Jersey family is murdered, Jim must fight through his personal struggles to become the formidable investigator he once was. With a troublesome convict resurfacing from his past, Bergerac is required to call on his sharp investigative instincts and past successes to navigate the intricate family dynamics, and watchful eyes of the police force, in order to solve the case.

The six episode series which will also air on BBC, follows nine strangers who find themselves lost in a remote Mexican jungle after their small plane, traveling from Guatemala to the U.S., crashes. One by one, the survivors are murdered, leaving the remaining passengers to solve the terrifying mystery before they too fall victim to the killer.

Arriving December 23rd to Channel 5 is traditional Christmas episode of ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL. In season five's festive episode,Skeldale House prepares for Christmas, and Jimmy’s first birthday, without the usual festive treats available. Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) has figured out how to deliver the ideal Christmas, but when her world is rocked by a worrying news bulletin, the Skeldale family do their best to support her. A young boy arrives at the surgery with an abandoned fox cub and Mrs Hall can’t help feeling a connection with the animal. Meanwhile, Tristan (Callum Woodhouse) is given an important Royal Army Veterinary Corps mission involving pigeons. He is underwhelmed by the task and Siegfried (Samuel West) sends him to Enoch Sykes, a cantankerous pigeon fancier. Tristan’s attempt to win over Enoch’s trust doesn’t go to plan. Helen (Rachel Shenton) and James (Nicholas Ralph) prepare for Jimmy's birthday tea at Heston Grange, but Helen has to deal with some family disagreements. When the fox needs veterinary help, Siegfried faces a difficult decision as to how best to care for the animal, whilst also looking after Mrs Hall.
