Talks by Linda Florence,Ph.D.CPP
Security professionals must recognize ethical issues when they arise that are consistent with both their organization's mission and the law. Using actual "codes" as a guide, this session examines the importance of ethics in decision-making and organizational behavior.
Workplace Violence
Examine current trends in research and aggression; understand what it is, legal issues, and how it affects your organization. Identify the necessary competencies needed to develop an effective strategy to prevent incidents. This session builds on the previous "Premise Liability" module specifically related to legal issues resulting from incidents of violence in the workplace.
Identify the essential organizational elements
and individual competencies that are critical for
success in preventing violence at work. This presentation will present the recent research on successful workplace violence prevention strategies in large U.S. organizations.
OSHA Federal Regulatory Compliance Matters for 2010
Learn whether your programs and policies
intended to prevent harm could be in violation
of recent OSHA standards. Employers are
responsible for hazard communication, personal
protective equipment, and electrical safety,
among others, and these should be addressed
in written policies, implementation, and training.
Changes to state laws regarding weapons in
parking lots could make some employers’
prevention policies suddenly illegal. Is your
property at risk?
