I hung out around Riverside Park and Benson Grocery in Bonita Springs and photographed people.

Eight Years Old

I was in Connecticut over the weekend for a girl's last day as a seven year old and first few days as an eight year old.  The party was at an indoor adventure park.

There was some fire breathing.

Her almost ten year old sister helped with the celebrations.

John To Go

Leaving Fort Myers, I followed a truck with colorful cargo for several miles.

Fire

The March 1 theme for City Daily Photo participants is "Fire."  I searched my archives and came up with this one.  On one trip to visit the daughter in South Africa, the family (except for me) took a balloon ride.  I don't like heights, so I stayed on terra firma with a camera.

How about some recent birds?

Roseate spoonbills are always popular in Southwest Florida.

A male osprey flew above me.  Females have a brown "necklace" while male breasts are either white like this one or have only a very pale necklace.

A juvenile brown pelican flew just above the water.

A male blue-winged teal duck led its female.

Red-bellied woodpeckers seem nervous, always looking around.  Maybe because they are worried that someone will discover that their bellies have barely any red on them.

Got to be ready to catch the moment a great egret takes off.
