Anne-Marie Willis, Professor of Design Theory in the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts, German University in Cairo. Editor of Design Philosophy Papers and author of five books, most recent (with Tony Fry) is Steel: A Design, Cultural and Ecological History, Bloomsbury, 2014. Previously researcher and sustainability consultant on major design projects in Australia; Lecturer at University of Sydney, Monash University, the University of New South Wales and Griffith University.
Recent research is focused on design philosophy; critical approaches to social change design; meta-design methods; design futuring and design scenarios; and video documentation of Old and New Cairo related to contestation of urban futures.
