Hi, I’m Jordyn. I flew from New York to Culver City, CA to interview for the job of a lifetime.
When I walked into The Bookstore, I only wanted a steamy romance or two to help pass the time before my big meeting.
I walked out with a gorgeous and sweet, cinnamon roll who was more funny and charming than all of my favorite book boyfriends combined, which definitely wasn’t the plan.
But Mike was irresistible, and the time we spent together exploring Culver City was more fun than I’ve had in a long time.
But I’m smart enough to know if something feels too good to be true, it probably is.
I mean, Happily Ever Afters are just for fairy tales and romance novels … right?
Lucy Eden is the nom de plume of an romance obsessed author who writes the kind of romance she loves to read. She’s a sucker for alphas with a soft gooey center, over the top romantic gestures, strong & smart MCs, humor, love at first sight (or pretty damn close), happily ever afters & of course, steamy love scenes.
When Lucy isn’t writing, she’s busy reading—or listening to—every book she can get her hands on— romance or otherwise.
She lives & loves in New York with her husband, two children, a turtle & a Yorkshire Terrier.

Jordyn & Mike meet at a book store and have an instant connection.
They hang out all day and realize there's a small snafu in their budding relationship, but it was resolved rather quickly. Mike lives up to his book boyfriend title.
Overall ~ cute, sweet and fun.
DUET! Narration notes: I can't tell you how excited I get when it's duet narration. It really gives the book a little extra pizzazz in my opinion. They both did a great job! I have no complaints. The whole 3 book series is on this one audio version.
Well if this wasn't the most adorable little romance novella! Blind Date with a Book Boyfriend includes a meet cute at a romance bookstore, a whirlwind romance, and a cinnamon roll hero. It's very charming and I really enjoyed my time with it. If you're looking for something short and sweet (and a little steamy!), this is a great option. AND if you're a regular romance reader you will probably enjoy the nods to some of our favorite books, plus the fact that the unnamed bookstore where they meet is clearly The Ripped Bodice. I needed something to brighten my day and this was perfect. Fair warning, everything does happen very fast (mostly in one day) and I might have preferred a slightly longer timeframe, but still it was just what I was looking for at the moment.
Just a cute dose of adorable in novella form. Cinnamon roll H with a h who has diversity and a brilliant mind. For as quick as this was, they seemed to have a genuine connection and I loved the humorous touches. Starting with a meet cute in a romance bookstore to a day of fun bonding and then a tiny dose of steam and angst before more cuteness with an epilogue a year later in their HEA (including some steaminess and a lovely bittersweet emotional moment). The author also mentions other romance books, some of which I also enjoyed, and apparently has more short stories featuring this delightful couple. I liked the ease of this novella and how much I smiled. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this couple’s romance.
Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama and both are experienced (with very little history given).
Jordyn & Mike were absolutely adorable and I immediately fell for both of them. Their meet-cute was sweet and fun and had me smiling big the entire time.
Within the first two chapters I had already giggled numerous times and even teared up with emotion at the end of chapter two.
The teasing and flirting was delightfully charming and made the characters even more lovable. Mike was ever the gentleman, but he sure wanted to NOT be a gentleman sometimes. Their chemistry was sizzling.
This lovely RomCom was just what I needed. It has the perfect amount of witty banter and humor, steam, and heart. This is definitely a feel-good story, because it left me feeling very happy when I finished.
Looking for a quick read to give you some laughs and make your heart happy? I highly recommend this one!
is there anything better than books that you just grip you from the first page and you know you're going to love it?? the romance novels talk alone is enought to sell me BUT ALSO to find out mike reads them and the story of how he got into them was so CUTE,, how do you expect me not to fall in love
this was so cute and funny and it gave me all the feels!!! most of this book takes place over the course of one day where they first meet at a bookstore and start taking about romance novels and go on a date for the rest of the day and it's so so fun! it does feel a little insta-lovely but i found that i didn't really mind?? i was engrossed in cuteness that a trope i usually dislike DIDN'T matter so take from that what you will
the only thing that i found somewhat questionable is something mike did after the interview? i still don't know how i completely feel about it soo
So so cute! I just had to say that first because I thoroughly enjoyed this fluffy, fun novella. I loved that it started off taking place at The Ripped Bodice, of all places. I’ve never been, which is a travesty as a Californian, but I love the idea of two romance-obsessed readers falling in love in a romance bookstore. Sure, this novella felt very fanfic-y at times, but for me it really added to the enjoyment. I grew up reading fanfiction so it felt so familiar and warm. There were some weird moments with pacing and also the grasp on time elapsed felt shaky. Still, this was such a cute novella and if you’re into instalove you might really enjoy it!
Absolutely Adorable! I loved it. Jordyn and Mike have a sweet and steamy little story. It packs an emotional punch for just about 100 pages, even so, I would have loved to have more. This is my first sampling from Lucy Eden but it certainly will not be my last. I will be seeking out her books. Happy reading!
P.S. There is a list of romance books in the back of the book. Similar to an author's playlist. How sweet is that to give other authors a little shout out!? And a particular bookstore that's quite relevant to the story. You'll see. Give this one a chance! It was a perfect way to spend the evening. Happy reading again!
A fun, quick novella that feels like an ode to romance novels and the romance loving culture. Two people find each other in a romance bookstore, spend the day together and find themselves unable to imagine life without each other. So good!
Aww, this was adorable! I, too, would like to find a handsome romance reader who also happens to blush at a romance-centric bookstore! 😍😍 Anyways, this short story had A+ chemistry and banter, which made the love-at-first-sight trope very believable.
Although I like mushy fluffy love stories, this one is not usually what I would go for. I like my H & h ⚫️. But I welcomed this little interracial love. I enjoyed it. It was a fun read. Smiled a lot. It was a love at first sight, kinda thing. Gave early 2000 chick flick vibe. A nice little read to cleanse my literally palate. 3.7
Okay, but who would have thought that visiting a bookstore in another state could result in love? But not just any love…love with a romance book loving billionaire.
This was a perfect novella! Most of it takes place over the day Jordyn and Mike meet - she's in town for a job interview and bumps into him at a romance bookstore (The Ripped Bodice in Culver City).
With novellas most of the time I prefer when the history is pre-defined, so we don't need to spend time as the characters "get to know each other" - usually it feels like insta-love. But this was a rare case where I thought them getting to know each other fit perfectly. It felt very natural and we got to be swept away with Jordyn on the whirlwind day.
It was a short story (something I didn’t know going in- I really wish authors would make readers aware of this fact before going in on a story).
Since I was unaware of this fact, I was confused by the pacing and thought everything was too rushed. I started wondering why everything was progressing so quickly, but my questions were answered once I completed and realised that it’s a short story. That saved me so much heartache.
It’s a cute story with adorable characters that have a sweet ‘meet cute story.’ I mean, who doesn’t want to meet their soulmate in a bookstore?
The characters were good but felt lacking and very 2D. Yes, I’m aware that it’s a short dirty story, but neither characters leapt off the page to be. They were both kind of forgettable.
Overall, the story was simple, digestible and a lovely read for someone looking to read a saccharine, albeit kind of far fetched, story before bed.
Mikemeets (cute)Jordyn at The Bookstore. He's an avid reader of romance and we soon find out why. After he initiates a conversation about romance books and tropes, he knows he's met "the one". He doesn't want their banter to end, so he invites her to lunch. Jordyn's in town for an job interview and she needs to decide whether or not she trusts her instincts about Mike. Is he really a nice guy or a serial killer in disguise?!
They have a great time at lunch and decide to spend the rest of the day exploring Culver City and the day into evening, just gets better and better. So we know the shoe must inevitably fall! The road to love can be bumpy and when Jordyn discovers Mike's secret, it puts everything she's worked for in jeopardy. Can she get the job and the guy or must one be sacrificed for the other?
This was a fast paced and easy-to-read novella. Unfortunately though, I had issues with the plot. If the book was longer, I probably would have lowered my rating. Nevertheless, it's still an adorable read!
This was such a fun short story. Definitely makes me want to read more Lucy Eden and more about these characters. So grateful for the extended epilogues.
This was definitely instalove, but we didn't have a lot of pages to get things done. Micah and Jordan's first day together they went on what they said was to equal to 5 dates, including an adorable scene of Micah running through a fountain to win a kiss from Jordan.
When an unexpected development seems like it would derail the relationships I wasn't sure what I wanted Jordan to do in regards to her dream job, but I like the way the author chose to wrap everything up.
BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK BOYFRIEND was a really cute and adorable novella. I devoured it in an hour and it had me smiling, laughing, and swooning. This was sweet and incredibly romantic and I loved the banter between Jordyn and Mike. They spend a fun and flirty day together getting to know each other and I enjoyed watching them start to fall for each other.
This was a super cute instant love story. I listened to the audiobook and Wesleigh Siobhan did her thing narrating. I liked that Micah & Jordyn met a bookstore and spent QT together. Jordyn learns that she is actually interviewing for a job at Micah’s company. I wish they could have said to hell with the politics and worked together at Micah’s company. 🫠 I enjoyed this one; it was a good palette cleanser and easy to read and had moments that made me laugh.
Oh my, I loved Mike from just one page. This is the fastest time that I loved a character. He was sweet and very very charming.
I loved that she acknowledged that going with a guy that she doesn't know is a way to romance or a kill😅. I am glad she was at least a sane normal person.
I loved her parents and their social medias 😂❤️.
After this, I will check the author's other works cause this was beautiful.
