I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. From the first page to the last, Master of the Mountain captured my attention, my imagination, and my heart. I feel Cherise Sinclair did a wonderful job portraying the basic and complex components in the relationship between the Dominate and the Submissive. That she incorporated romance into this light BDSM story made it that much better.
For me, Logan's character is a great example of a responsible and good Dom. He recognized Rebecca's (Becca) submissive nature, helped to coax out her submissive side, was always aware of her state of mind and body's responses, and pushed her limits but never went beyond them. And when Logan helped Becca overcome her debilitating fear of his dog Thor, I fell head-over-heels in love with him.
I really like Rebecca's character. I admired her courage in facing her fears, doubts, and insecurities. Her internal struggle between accepting her submissive side and being disturbed by it felt realistic and add credibility to the story.
One of my favorite parts of the book was the relationship that developed between Logan's dog, Thor and Becca. There was an ambiance about their relationship that was fun, tender, and endearing.
The swingers subplot felt gratuitous. It served little to no purpose in the overall plot (the protagonists weren't in to swinging) and I didn't care for that portion of the book.
I also would have loved a little more from the ending. Maybe Thor welcoming Becca home? He was waiting for her return, after all. I was still satisfied with the ending, though.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

The book description gives more than a good insight of the story - in fact, it tells the whole story! - so I won't bother writing a plot summary here. I'll just say that the premise was interesting, but I didn't like the way the story unfolded.
Rebecca was too hesitant and insecure - so much that I didn't know if she still considered Matt her boyfriend or not when she had sex with Logan. Before anyone shouts "Cheater!" at her, let me explain that Matt and Rebecca had an open relationship - even though she only became aware of that when the douchebag told her he was a swinger and asked her to join his swing club on a long weekend retreat - so she wasn't cheating on him when she decided to explore her sexuality with Logan. Even so, I still felt uncomfortable with her decision, mostly because she was uncomfortable with it too. She was clearly not a swinger and not into any kind of sexual sharing, so why didn't she break things up with Matt when she realized that? Considering he was "busy" with another woman (and therefore, didn't have time to speak with his own girlfriend) and how he was okay with her having sex with other guys, I'd have been fine with Rebecca breaking up with Matt "telepathically" until she could do it face to face. She did that (the "telepathic" breakup) later, but the damage - the way I saw it - had been done.
Logan was sexy as sin - and a bit scary for my sensitive taste. He was definitely a Dom with a capital D and wasn't afraid to push Rebecca out of her comfort zone. He never went over what he knew she could take, which was a relief - to her, not to me. And that's where I had some issues with this book. Logan and Rebecca were more than happy with their BDSM plays - well, she wasn't exactly laughing with joy when he punished her, but you know what I mean - and they really knew how to set the sheets on fire, but some of their sex scenes were out of my comfort zone. I shouldn't care - I mean, as long as everyting is sane, safe and consensual, everything goes - but I couldn't help being put off by some of their sexcapades. Since I read for fun and that affected my enjoyment while I was reading this book, I had to take that in consideration when I decided on my rating.
This was my 3rd read by this author and I don't know where I stand when it comes to her books. I like her writing, but I'm wary of her stories. I loved The Dom's Dungeon, I didn't like Club Shadowlands and even though I thought that this book was better than okay, it wasn't a winner. What to do, what to do? I guess I'll have to keep reading. ;)

Hot, sexy and kinky. Mild BDSM, nothing too crazy beyond some tying up, a bit of spanking and some hijinks in the woods while tied to a tree (sign me up for a screaming orgasm too please). Oh yeah, there was a public nookie scene at a "club".
I enjoyed the author's writing style and plan on checking out her other work. No ménage was included for those who are not a fan of the heroine sandwich.

Tenía este libro pendiente hace muchísimo tiempo y eso que me venía súper híper recomendado en el género erótico. Sin embargo, para mí fue uno más del montón e, incluso, por debajo de la media.
A ver, tampoco es que esperara una novela muy profunda, pero al menos me gusta encontrar coherencia en el desarrollo del argumento y caracterización de los personajes, y ésta se queda muuuy al debe.
Tampoco me agrada cuando se confunde la práctica de dominación en una relación sexual con machismo puro y duro. Pero, por favor, si Logan convence a Rebecca para que se quede con él ofreciéndole, además de sexo salvaje, que se convierta en su cocinera!... y ni hablar de cómo aborda los problemas de autoestima de Rebecca por ser un poco “rellenita”, diciéndole que a ÉL le gusta tener un cuerpo blando y mullido sobre el que apoyar su peso en la cama... y eso por mencionar sólo algunos ejemplos. Too much. (Nótese que al principio del libro ella era feminista).

#RetoIntimo Tenía muchas ganas de leer este libro desde hace tiempo. Me habian dicho que estaba muy bien y me llamaba la atención. Gracias al Reto he aprovechado para leerlo al fin.
Tengo que decir que no ha estado mal, me ha entretenido y gustado, pero me ha faltado algo más...
Logan me ha gustado mucho y más cuando se mete en su Roll de Amo, pero con la prota no terminado de conectar...
Habido otros personajes que me han sobrado desde el minuto uno como Matt. Y otros que me ha llamado mucho la atención como Jake.
Y siendo sincera me esperaba mucho más en el final.
Aún así quiero leer los demás libros de la serie

Another great Cherise Sinclair series for me to dive into! BDSM in the Mountains? Sex and scenery? SOLD!
Logan was a toe curling, Dominant mountain man teaching a new to the lifestyle and self conscious Rebecca how to accept her body's cravings. This was a perfect blend of smut and story and just what I wanted.
However, two things didn't quite get this one to 4 stars:
1. I feel like the story started abruptly. Don't hear that often, do you? The presentation of the swingers weekend idea felt too matter of fact. Almost like you picked up a conversation half way thru.
2. Rebecca's big misunderstanding and her departure from the mountain frustrated me. Never once did Logan show ANY indication that he saw her as anything but beautiful, and repeatedly both showed and told her that so her quick jump to conclusions got a big eye roll from me.

Tras la 4 relectura de este libro acompañada de mis queridas Damas Min, solo puedo decir que cada vez disfruto más. En esta la lectura ha ido acompañada de tantas risas por nuestros comentarios acerca del buen hacer de Logan y de todo lo que nos hace sentir que de ahí mi puntuación. Logan te adoro cada vez más y sí voy a decirlo porque si no no sería yo. NO SE PUEDE MÁS CONTIGO LOGAN COÑO YA!

En resumen, ha estado muy bien. Tomando de base un argumento sencillo, creo que en apenas 270 páginas nos han mostrado la parte más amable de BDSM, desde el respeto, la aceptación mutua, la confianza y la dominación. Es una novela erótica entretenida, el sexo explícito adecuado, con dos protagonistas bastante sólidos, que encajan perfectamente desde el principio, con todos sus miedos, inseguridades y fortalezas. Ha sido una lectura más amable de lo que esperaba y creo que por eso me ha gustado más.

If you are looking for an erotica romance author who delivers each and every time you open a book, then Cherise Sinclair is your girl. While the Masters of the Shadowlands may be my favourite series by her, this series Mountain Masters is another great BDSM escape for readers.
Rebecca lets her boyfriend, Matt talk her into taking part in a swingers getaway at a mountain lodge. Feeling unfulfilled in her relationship with Matt, she thinks that this may liven up their relationship and sex life. However, once Becca gets there, she soon realizes that this may not be her scene. She doesn’t like strangers touching her, doesn’t like exchanging partners and doesn’t like the way the lodge owner, Logan keeps looking at her like she’s a feast to be consumed.
Becca was a smart girl whom I really enjoyed reading about. I loved that Cherise kept reminding readers that she was a voluptuous woman with curves and valleys. Though Becca may not see the beauty in herself as she is covered in scars, she doesn’t feel too sorry for herself. She still has that confidence that I liked all my heroines to have. She was smart, sensible and an overall well-written character.
Logan, on the other hand, made my heart trip. I love the Shadowland Doms, but damn, these Mountain Doms know what to do as well! Logan shows the wide-eyed and curious Becca various BDSM techniques, testing her out. What he finds is that Becca isn’t a swinger, but a submissive.
He is damaged by war, experiencing extreme nightmares where he has awakened and injured people, namely his brother, Jake. In an attempt to keep Becca safe and unharmed by him, he pushes Becca away. However, Becca soon realizes that this inexplicable pull between her and her Dom is more than her interest in BDSM. It’s love.
Becca and Logan are great together, explosive even, because the sex scenes between these two are delicious. Cherise Sincalir delivers. Each and every time.
I’m looking forward to Jake’s story, a Dom who is a little more loose compared to his brother. But I won’t expect a less strict Dom because of that. Jake seems like he will be a lot of fun.
Master Simon from Dark Haven seems like another great guy. I cannot wait to read his story as well. He was perfect in this book so reading about him will surely have me begging for more.

I wasn't planning on writing a review for this book but I find myself needing to say a few things..
First a very big thank you to Cherise Sinclair for her authors note. It starts like this :
"To my readers,
This book is fiction, not reality and, as in most romantic fiction, the romance is compressed into a very, very short time period.
You, my darlings, live in the real world and I want you to take a little more time than the heroines you read about."
There's more after this which was also very considerate and made me like her as person not just an author.
What I loved about this book is that Logan, our Dom when he first starts experimenting with Rebecca he actually acknowledges that she only just met him and cannot be expected to fully trust him from the get go. I LOVED that! I cannot shout it enough. Of course things escalate between them quickly after that which kinda belated his point but at least he made it and didn't push too much on their first sexual encounter.
Warning mini rant ahead:
See I've read a fair few novels containing BDSM and/or aspects of it. Though I comprehend they are fiction, the plot must progress and so on, sometimes it really annoys me when said Dom complains/punishes when his sub(usually a first time sub as well) doesn't fully trust him from the second he touches her. You just met like a day ago! If a guy I met a day ago wanted me to trust him to tie me up I'd probably run away no matter how horny I am. Just because the're Doms doesn't mean they are not psychopaths. I know it's a plot device to emphasize how much they are attracted to each other and throw caution to the wind but it still annoys me at times. So I really, really liked Cherise Sinclair for cautioning her readers and making a point in the book. Rant over.
I loved the book, the plot, the setting, and man the sexy times were epic!
All in all a great read that made me really like the author and will be definitely trying more of her books.

Another beautiful series by Cherise that i adore and enjoyed reading more than once. You can really feel the love she has for this family,too. Who knew the mountains could be a great playground for BDSM?
Rebecca is willing to try swinging for her boyfriend Matt,to see if that would give their sexlife the necessary boost it seems to need.
But soon after they arrive at the cabins in the mountains,she realizes it’s useless….because not only isn’t she into swinging,it wouldn’t save their relationship if she was.
So much for her list of things she looks for in a man….because he may tick a lot of the boxes,there’s one important box he fails…..mindblowing sex with orgasms to die for. One of the owners of the cabins shows her exactly what she’s been missing,though….and it opens her eyes to what she needs.
Spending time with Logan and his dog,allowing him to dominate her,is so,so good…..but it can’t last,right?
She’s not exactly model material,and he could do so much better.
Being brave,and asking for something more,backfires spectacularly though,and she runs.
Not knowing he does want her,but is afraid his PTSD will make him harm her…..
A beautiful start to another delicious series i know Cherise Sinclair is so very good at writing.

Ufff... ¿alguien sabe dónde encontrar un Logan? Con un Dom así a cualquiera le gustaría el BDSM XD Una novela muy a la altura de lo que es el género, para mí sobrepasa a otras cuantas que se consideran dentro del mismo. No se lo pierdan.
En la relectura capté más los detalles de las personalidades de los protagonistas; Rebecca con su timidez y su baja autoestima resulta ser una imagen bastante acertada de la mujer común de hoy en día. Logan con su actitud todo lo puedo y su testarudez resulta un macho a considerar, y su pasado dramático que lo hace ser un poquito insoportable a veces.
Al final estos dos polos opuestos se unen, y se vuelve realidad el dicho de que los polos opuestos se atraen. Muy recomendable.
En la tercera lectura creo que he desfrutado mucho más de los detalles graciosos y pullas entre los personajes, me encanta el humor de momento que utiliza la autora.

This one started out really good and then it took a turn that did not appeal to me. I liked Logan initially, and the relationship that developed between him and Rebecca. Then he got pushy and kept telling her that this is what she wanted, and maybe she did, but that's not the way the author portrayed it. Rebecca was clearly disturbed by what he was doing to her, and that didn't stop Logan. Very confusing and a bit harsh. I also didn't care for the swingers portion of the book. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

This book is pure pure sex. I feel like being introduce to the world of bdsm. The story is minimum. No character development. Just sex. The sex is hot. Searing hot. Like a fire. Its delicious.
If only the story can support the character development, it can be more good.

No acostumbro a leer muchas novelas de esta temática (amo-sumisa) así que no sé muy bien como reseñarla.
Como erótica sí que me ha gustado, especialmente él, Logan.
Las cosas que dice, las cosas que le hace a Rebecca son muy excitantes pero el argumento en sí mismo, básicamente la trama a mi me ha cansado un poco. Puede que haya sido porque no me llama la atención poderosamente el tema de la sumisión o no sé porque.
Algo que me ha molestado son las continúas referencias de ella a su sobrepeso, vale que lo mencione alguna vez pero creo que hay un exceso de frases cuestionándose a sí misma y en casi todas se dice prácticamente lo mismo.

Cherise always kills it for me.
This one had a very condensed timeline but I really enjoyed seeing Logan pleasure and enjoy Becca.
He helped build her confidence and won her over from her sleazy boyfriend. Really enjoyed it.

Por fin la he leído, me ha costado tiempo ponerme con ella. Si retrasaba el momento era por temor a encontrar algo que me pudiera decepcionar, me han hablado tanto de ella que tenía bastante recelo.
Y aunque mis sospechas se confirmaron tras la lectura, es una excelente novela.
Esperaba mucha más intensidad (¿dónde está esa intensidad prometida? xD). Es verdad que la tiene, pero no como la estaba esperando (ay, alargar el placer a veces no ofrece tanta recompensa...). Tampoco es que el argumento pueda estirarse más, la lectura ha sido entretenida y divertida, y agradezco haber leído porque me ha enseñado cosas, detalles que no he visto en otras novelas de género y que, sinceramente, son bastante importantes. Es diferente en ese sentido, excelente narrativa y con un desarrollo inteligente. La parte final me ha gustado mucho más.
Los personajes también son interesantes, los dos por igual. Son arquetipos de este tipo de novela, pero, a su vez, tienen detalles que los hace distintos. Él es el dominante (iba a decir un leñador canadiense...), pero no es un capullo arrogante; ella es rebelde (pija de ciudad, pero no imbécil), pero no es una inconsciente. Él es duro, pero sabe ser amable; y ella tiene reticencias, como cualquier persona con dos dedos de frente que se preocupa por su salud sexual.
La recomiendo, desde luego, para el que se inicie con la erótica bedesemera, ya que trata el tema con bastante sentido común.

El libro ha bajado varios niveles :( Mantengo lo dicho anteriormente, pero si se busca algo más, no lo hay. Entretenida e instructiva, pero poco emocionante.

This was so good! Better than My Liege of Dark Haven. I'm kinda reading out of order but that's okay. I loved Rebecca, she was such a kind and sweet woman. Made to feel self conscious about her figure, she endures being in the wrong relationship with douchebag Matt. Then to meet and submit to Logan...who's pure MALE. I'm glad she was made to feel worthy of who she was and be cherished for everything she is. Logan was incredible! Such a patient and tender Dom that suffers from PTSD all alone.
The swingers were hilarious, especially that skank, Ashley. Matt really pissed me off for the majority of the book leaving Rebecca to fend for herself. Luckily she found her mate in Logan Hunt. I loved the ending! Cherise Sinclair is hit and miss with me, but this was fantastic! Now I plan on finishing the series.

Highly rated,yes...but what for? This was mostly lightly kinky how-to-make-a-woman-scream sex,delivered from an all-knowing "I know what`s best for you" Dom in a nondescript,almost boring story.I can barely tolerate that kind of Dom in m/m - here it made me want to punch his lights out...
Will give it no rating since I usually just read m/m and don`t know any other m/f romance books to compare it to. Perhaps I will try some recommended m/m/f`s in the future - they can`t be all that bad - but for now back to m/m and greener pastures.

I'm not usually one for bdsm books, but this one was pretty good and well written. I enjoyed both the strong heroine (who finds out that she's a sexual submissive) and the studly Dom hero who owns the mountain retreat where they meet and awakens her sexually. This was a quick read, it was hot, but the heroine's low self esteem regarding her plumpish body was starting to get on my nerves. This is my first read by this author and I'll definitely look for more. 4 solid stars

Oh, the things I will do for a reading challenge. BDSM romance is a category for the 2017 Unapologetic Romance Readers challenge, and when I first came across this book it was free on kindle, so I decided to grab it, even though I will be the first to admit that BDSM is not one of my faves. To start with the positive, the book was fairly well written and I enjoyed the mountain setting. Some of the sex scenes were interesting, and the author did a good job of explaining the lifestyle. However, I just had too many little quibbles with the story to rate it higher than two stars.
I'm not going to hide any spoilers since the book summary pretty much gives away the entire plot anyway, but if anyone is worried about it, please be aware--potential unmarked spoilers below.
The plot, such as it is, has our heroine Becca attending a swingers weekend at a mountain lodge in order to placate her live-in boyfriend, Matt. While there, she realizes she is completely turned off by group sex and swapping, and ends up in the bed of one of the proprietors, Logan, a war vet who is also a Dom. He immediately recognizes Becca as a submissive and initiates her into the lifestyle over the course of many sex scenes.
While I have no problem with the Dom/sub thing, I felt that the initial sex scene was problematic, as Becca does not yet know about Logan's intentions and keeps telling him that she is not comfortable fooling around with him. Because he somehow knows that she actually wants it (since he's not psychic, this felt too rapey for me), he keeps going, even though she keeps telling him No and Stop. Later he thinks of their encounter as a "rape fantasy" but don't both participants have to agree on this in order for it to be a "fantasy" as opposed to just rape?
Later in the story, once she agrees to their relationship and understands the rules and that she can use her safe word, I didn't have an issue with the sex, even when it seemed to be humiliating for her, except that he told her he was only dominant in the bedroom but then kept "punishing" her for non-sexual things, like when she went out alone on the trail to rescue his dog. If anyone rescued MY dog, I would bake them cookies and thank them profusely, not spank them!
Finally, the reason for the penultimate drama is that Logan sends Becca away for her own good because he has PTSD and nightmares and is afraid he will accidentally kill her in his sleep. What?? Seems a bit OTT to me.
A few other things that stuck out as weird or annoying to me:
1. Matt and Becca have zero chemistry together, and clearly no communication skills. She doesn't even know he's a swinger until he invites her to this weekend getaway, and yet they just signed a lease on an apartment together. When they get to the lodge, she realizes how uncomfortable she is with non-monogamous relationships, but still doesn't talk to Matt about it, even while she's jumping into bed with Logan. Communication, people. It's a thing.
2. The group goes for a hike into the mountains and they start skinny dipping in a lake. Becca doesn't want to participate, but Logan makes her strip down to her underwear because he thinks she has impending heat exhaustion. Later that evening, Becca decides to sleep on the porch to avoid the swinging going on in her cabin, and gets so cold Logan rescues her from impending hypothermia by whisking her to his bed. Seriously, who suffers from both heatstroke and hypothermia on the same day???
3. Becca is super-insecure because she is curvy, which got tiresome after a while, especially since I didn't get the impression she was morbidly obese, just plus sized. Anyway, when Logan asks her about it, she states that her dad left her mom for being overweight; he didn't like curvy women. In a later scene, Logan thinks of how his mom was really lush and curvy, just like Becca. Please, authors--do NOT make your characters think of their parents while having sex! It just squicks me out to no end.
There were other issues along the way, but I don't want to be too picky, to I'll leave it here. This book has a lot of rave reviews, so don't take my criticisms to heart. If you like BDSM erotica, you might enjoy this a lot more than I did.

What an adorable story!
Actually it started off as a-okay. The Heroine happens to fall for a guy who is a gentleman (in her eyes, not mine) who can give her a life of happiness, except Matt is a terrible bed lover. Matt makes a suggestion to explore their sexual side in their relationship, and asks if she'd join him on a Swinger's retreat. This is the first time Rebecca has ever heard of him going to such a place, in which couples, men and woman show up just to have sex with one another. In my opinion, I would've slapped the guy upside his head for suggesting it, no man is worth scooping down to his perverted level. But she agrees, and the better for her... * smirks*
When Rebecca puts her two senses together, she realizes it was a huge mistake, and watching Matt screw around in front her eyes is just not her style.
Rebecca meets the hot stud Logan, who owns the cabins up in the mountains where all the Swinger's meet up for their retreat. He's obviously not part of the Swinger's group, but knows all about these horny people who get a kick outta screwing with everyone. But don't let Logan fool you, he has a bad boy fetish kink, in which he has the googly eyes for Rebecca and her famous round ass. He teaches her everything about herself sexually, that she had no idea existed. "BDSM" ooooooh Logan! Spank Me Baby! Hehe!!!! Watching Logan taking it nice and slow with Rebecca then giving it to her full force, showed his soft lovable side and his tough and rough exterior of a Dom. Omg!! Rebecca's boyfriend, Matt, is getting a little tired of their sex life. He wanted to spice it up and decided to ask Rebecca to go on vacation with him with his swing club. Rebecca isn't comfortable around the swingers and finds herself without a place to sleep. She ends up sharing a room with Logan one of the owners of the resort where they are staying at. She ends up learning about BDSM and realizes that her kink isn't being a swinger, but a submissive to Logan's dom. Rebecca has a poor self image due to some scars from an incident from her childhood and the fact that she is a little on the large side. Logan also has scars from being in the armed forces (marine?) and has nightmares that get a little out of hand and eventually Logan pushes Rebecca away because of this.
I really liked the start of this Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series. I had read some of Cherise's Masters of the Shadowlands series and knew I would like this one.

I am not into BDSM books, even though they are all the rage lately. Just not my thing. But the story and characters in this book are much more than that. It was actually quite romantic.
Recently got the audiobook for this and really enjoyed it. The reader, Phil Gigante has this too die for deep voice!

Para mi, la historia está demasiado centrada en la dominación / submisión y solo da pinceladas de otras cosas que me han faltado, como los sentimientos u opiniones de Rebecca y Logan o más datos sobre los traumas que arrastran; incluso me hubiera gustado conocer más la relación de Rebeca con Matt y como termina o saber más sobre la vida en el albergue o del hermano de Jake.
Es una novela corta que quizá añadiendo algo más de todo esto me hubiera gustado más.

Hmm... Could it be that I don't like erotica as well as I thought? I'm not a prude. I've read stuff like this and even more smutty for most of my life but I think I've decided that all that sexing just gets in the way of a good love story.
I did like the characters. I appreciated that the whole BDSM thing was mostly just in the bedroom. I think the way the story was set up as an exploration was really well done. The sex was hot. Most of it worked well for the story. For me however, and I know it's a reflection of my comfort level, I didn't like the bits where they are doing any aspect of it in front of other people. I guess I have a privacy, non exhibitionist hot button.
The romance was very well done. I would have enjoyed reading even more about this couple. More getting to know each other and dealing with his PTSD and her looking for a perfect man and finding love with someone who totally doesn't fit her previous ideal of perfection.
So bottom line. It was pretty well done. I guess I just need to read either a story with lots of sexing and no real romance or a more fully developed romance if that makes sense, and keep the two separate.
