For today's card, I used some pieces of Authentique Paper's Nightfall Collection to create a quick and easy card with the scariest thing of all... GLITTER! The eyeballs are all from Doodlebug (I got them on clearance earlier this year and have been anxiously waiting to use them!).

We want to encourage all of our challenge participants to refer our rules and prize structure here: http://thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com/p/how-to-play.html

Also, follow us on our new Instagram account for more chances to win! For this challenge use #PGCBchallenge162 and tag us @papergirlschallengeblog for an extra entry.

Paper Girls Challenge Blog: Wooden Elements

I loved this week's challenge for the Paper Girls Challenge Blog!! I love most things that are wooden, wood grain, and wood-inspired. It's just a warm aesthetic, that I find so comforting. For this challenge I wanted to incorporate the super-fun Halloween collection from Authentique: Tricky. I loved the playful colors and paetterns.
Do the wooden elements, I used a combination of Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life Accessory Pack, Studio Calico wooden stars, and Freckled Fawn wooden words. The larger wooden elements are covered with a Wink of Sella Brush Glitter Pen.

AUTHENTIQUE: A "Spirited" Two-Page Layout with Kiwi Lane Designs

Today I have a great two-page layout using Authentique's Spirited Collection and Kiwi Lane Templates. In this layout, I wanted to showcase quite a few photos from last year's pumpkin patch visit.
I started with two sheets of Twisted, then layered Oblique and Labyrinth papers that were cut using the Scallops Templates and Paisley Place Templates from Kiwi Lane. I then added large sections of both Conjure and Ominous as my photo "mats".
I then cut a cute bracket using Caution and the Kiwi Lane Tiny Bracket Templates.
Those pumpkins are actually balloons! I flipped the Kiwi Lane Tiny Celebrate Templates upside down, and then added a die cut stem. to make them more "pumpkin-y". Some of the pieces are popped up using some black craft foam and my Xyron 1.5" sticker maker. I love using foam that matches the colors I'm using in my layouts so that it doesn't stand out.
Then I added a lot of details using Authentique's Details 12x12 cardstock sticker, Components 6x12 paper die cut, Petite Diction mini word sticker, and the Stamp Blocks 4x12 paper die cuts. I also scattered a bunch of die cut sequins and stars around the layout.

I love how each page both works together, but can also work separately as well. The Kiwi Lane Templates make it easy to pull together.
Hope you have a few more ideas on how to make your own fun layouts using Authentique and Kiwi Lane.

October's Shop Your Stash Kit...

So, as you may have noticed, I've renamed the kits that I make as Shop Your Stash Kits. There's a few reasons, and if you're a reader of my blog, you've noticed that I've been wrestling with what to call these creations. The short version is, I didn't want to use a name that I was not 100% comfortable with. There are ton of challenge blogs that all create themed kits, based on other companies' kits. I've done them, it's totally fun. But I don't want to imitate the amazing kits that others make, I just want to use up what I have. No challenges, no prizes, (unless you count all of the projects you make!) and no pressure. If you want more information on my process and what exactly I'm doing, I've made a PAGE to better explain how I go about Shopping My Stash!

Now for the pictures, and October's Shop Your Stash Kit!! Reality moment: this kit has been made for almost a month. Seriously... I'm in love with this kit, and the mood board that inspired it. I have SO many plans... But they have to start somewhere, and this is the lovely inspiration picture that started it all:

OMGoodness!! Isn't it just divine! So gorgeous, so Halloweeny without being all cheesy... I was just in love. Vanessa over at lbg studio created this amazing "Mood Board" and I swear, it spoke to me. I loved all of it from the apples (you'll see them!), to the pumpkins, feathers, woodgrain, stars, hot cocoa (which I'm totally translating into coffee...) and the patchwork. And those pocket scrapbook cards... that I may have just purchased because of this board. Look forward to a month of Halloween, Autumn and fun family pics!

Halloween Parade Layout

This has been kicking around my scraproom since, well, Halloween. I love this picture of all of the children in my kiddos' school... Even though mine aren't even looking at the camera. Hilarity! I used mainly Elle's Studio products, including pieces from their monthly kits and a couple of random pieces of patterned paper.

American Crafts Layouts!!

So, I've realized that I've spent much of the summer making pages, projects, layouts, cards, presents, etc., but I haven't uploaded or shared them unless it was with the person that the item was designated for. Shame on me!!

Here are a few of my favorite layouts, cards and a project that I made all using American Crafts. :) American Crafts is having their AC Design Team 2010-2011 call! I've decided that I am going to throw my "hat into the ring" so to speak and see what I can do.

American Crafts is one of my all-time favorite companies within the scrapbooking world, so if I was able to share my craftiness through their company, it would be VERY cool!

Here is my first layout of the munchkin...

The first is a layout for her six month birthday. I was eyeing the Blue Skies collection from AC for weeks, until I finally bought most of the set from scrapbooksteals.com!! Okay, I bought about four peices of the "Happy Go Lucky" paper, and was hoarding them for the perfect layout...

{AC Blue Skies Papers, Blue Skies Remarks, Blue Skies Dimensional Stickers, AC Brads, Delight & Rocketeer Thickers, pink cardstock, AC adhesives, foam dots and squares}

I just love how this line coordinates SO well in a beautiful way! The little animals are so adorable, the colors are gorgeous, and the embellishments are just insane!!!

The second of the two layouts, is where I got to use the "Happy Go Lucky" paper. I couldn't bear cutting the letters and the background out of the back of this paper, so took a piece and found some Bazzill paper that matched exactly. I didn't have access to AC cardstock in brown at the time... bummer! I love the cutout letters (I used my Cricut and popped them out with AC foam squares). The snapshots were all in the matter of about 30 seconds. This girl loves the camera!

{AC Blue Skies Papers, Blue Skies Remarks, Blue Skies Dimensional Stickers, Delight Thickers, Bazzil Cardstock in brown, AC adhesives and foam squares}

This is the project that I am sharing with AC. It is a repurposed iPod Shuffle case that I found while cleaning out the space under the television. I traced the paperwork inside, and created a neat Thank You (TU) box just the right sized for...

{I Love You papers, Brown Pajamas felt Thickers, brown accent Thickers, AC ribbon & AC adhesives}

...a miny Starbucks card!! Thank goodness that SBUX has the mini cards, a regular one would not have fit. Or been that cute!

The card that the ACDT asked for is Halloween-y in nature!! I'm excited, as I'll probably use it for a birthday card for my grandmother, who happens to be born on Halloween! She loves the holiday, and I love making cards. It's just too fun to give someone something that you made them!

{AC Halloween papers, Nutmeg? Thickers, Haunted House Chipboard Embellishments, MiniMarks in Cauldron Phrases, found ribbon, envelope from the PaperZone}

I even used rubons for the greeting in the card, as well as to decorate the envelope!

This was a LOOONG blog. I will add more projects this weekend. I have a few pages, layouts, and the books that I made the ladies at daycare! Whew.

Wish me luck!
~Heather
