and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

In My Heart - DD Color Challenge

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Divinity Designs has a new feature over on the Divinity Designs Blog today...it's a color challenge for the design team.  We hope you will be inspired by the projects and the colors.

I have chosen to use the In My Heart Stamp/Die Duo for my friendship sample.  I just love the hydrangea image in this stamp set.

Creative Nugget:  The Quilted Background Die was used to cut coordinating papers from the Romantic Roses Paper Pad to create the background.  The new Flourishes Embossing Folder was used to impress texture onto the background and also onto the Large Banner.  The sentiment was stamped on another Large Banner die cut.  The Copic colored hydrangeas were cut with the coordinating die.  A border was cut and added behind the sentiment using the Bitty Borders Die and the Cloud Border Die. Nuvo Drops were added to the centers of the flower petals and to the sentiment panel to finish the card.

This card will also be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to hop on over to the Divinity Designs Blog to check out the other projects created by the Divinity Divas!

Throwback Thursday - Beverage Cup Dies

Hello friends!  It's time for Throwback Thursday over at Our Daily Bread Designs and the feature for today is the Beverage Cup Dies.  What a wonderful set of dies for creating the perfect coffee card...or hot chocolate...or a nice cold cup of lemonade!

Creative Nugget:  The background for this card was created by sponging distress inks through a stencil that reminded me of coffee rings on Mixed Media Paper and then cut with one of the Pierced Rectangle Dies.  A few splatters and spritzes with water were added.  A sentiment from the I Love Coffee set was stamped in the lower corner.  Papers from the Latte Love Paper Pad were cut into strips, woven together and added to the card front.  The Beverage Cup Dies were used to make the coffee cups which were mounted on card stock cut with one of the Filigree Circle Dies.  A few gems were colored with Copic Markers and added to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Take time to enjoy a steamy beverage with a friend today!

Take Another Look at the ODBD July 2016 Release

Hello friends!  Today Our Daily Bread Designs is taking another look at the July 2016 Release!  The flowers in this month's release are just beautiful as you will see as you hop to each of the Breadstick Designers' blogs!

The Forever Friends stamp set and some of the new ovals dies were used to create the Double Z card below.

Creative Nugget:  The coneflower in the Forever Friends stamp set was stamped multiple times across the panels on the Double Z card and colored with Copic Markers and a Yellow Wink of Stella Marker.   Several more coneflowers were stamped on scraps of card stock, colored, fussy cut, and popped up for dimension.   The Z Fold border was lined with paper from the Beautiful Boho Collection and a Fence Die cut.  The sentiment was stamped on a label cut with one of the Layered Lacey Ovals Dies and tied to the fence.  Ribbon was used to keep the card closed.

When opened, the whole field of coneflowers is displayed.  A second sentiment from the Forever Friends set was stamped on a panel cut with one of the other Layered Lacey Ovals Dies.

Here are the fabulous new products from the Our Daily Bread Designs July 2016 Release that were used to make this card...

Keep In Touch

Hello friends, and for those of you in the U.S., happy 4th of July weekend!  I have two cards to share with you today that are perfect for keeping in touch.

The first card is made with a stamp set being featured this week at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Keep In Touch.

Creative Nugget:  Since the elements in the stamp set are vintage in nature, I decided to make this card a little Shabby Chic by adding a shabby bow, distressing the edges, and stitching the panels together.  The colors were inspired by The Card Concept Challenge for this week and the design by Freshly Made Sketches. The patterned papers came from an Authentique paper pad and were made a little more aged by applying ink to an acrylic block, spritzing it with water, and stamping it directly onto the DP.  A few ink splatters were added with watercolor paints.  The images on the card are from the Keep In Touch stamp set and were cut with the matching Keep In Touch Dies.  A few postage marks from the Parisian Postcard stamp set were lightly stamped and pearls added in the corner to finish the card.

The second card has a completely different look and was made using the Splitcoaststampers Sketch for this week.

Creative Nugget:  All the stamps and dies used on this card are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The poppies are from the Mini Flower Blocks 3 stamp set and were colored with Copic Markers and cut with a Spellbinders Square Nestie.  The Anna Griffin Poppy embossing folder was perfect for the background.  The sentiment is from Keep in Touch, the featured stamp set for this week, and was cut with the edge of one of the Decorative Plaques Dies.  The Majestic Monarch was colored with Copic Markers and cut with the matching Monarch Die.  The panels were stitched together and a bow and pearls were added to finish the card.

Here are the products from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store used to make both cards:

Homegrown

Hello friends!  Our church had Vacation Bible School this week so it has been a little crazy…and busy!  Many of our activities for the week were scheduled for outside and of course the meteorologists were calling for rain and thunderstorms each evening.  Amazingly, the rain held off just long enough each night for us to complete our activities, and the kids have been having a lot of fun!  The rain that we did get was a blessing and gardeners were thrilled that their flowers and plants received the much needed nourishment. My homegrown card for today is actually a CASE of THIS card by my Breadstick sister, Paula Bigelow.

Creative Nugget:  All stamps and dies used on this card are from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Paper from the Blooming Garden Collection was cut with the large rectangle from the Flourished Star Pattern die set and along with Summer Sun card stock was added to the card base.  The Seed Packet was stamped in Fern Green Archival ink and the homegrown sentiment added.  The image from The Good Seed was stamped three times and colored with Copic Markers.  Portions of the image were fussy cut and popped up for dimension.  The sentiment was stamped and cut with one of the Pennant Dies and a seam binding bow added to finish the card.

My prayer is that some of the rain we've been getting in the east makes its way out west to my friends in California!

This card will be submitted to the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday #188 - Anything Goes
Ladybug Crafts - Use Your Dies
Sister Act Card Challenge #110 - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by…sow a seed of friendship today!

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Hello friends!  I have a quick card to share today that was so much fun to make!  I've been wanting to try THIS card fold that I found on Pinterest and was inspired by THIS card created by Sunday's Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers, Lizzie Walker, and by THIS card made by Judy Rozema using the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set, Happy Home.

Creative Nugget:  I modified the directions to form the base for my standing box card and lined each panel with patterned paper to form the background for this little neighborhood scene.  A fence and some rolling hills were added.  Then it was just a matter of coloring the little houses and trees with Copics, fussy cutting them out, and attaching them with foam tape to vary the dimension for each layer.  Finally some clouds were die cut, one of which was used for the sentiment.  What a colorful, happy neighborhood!  Wouldn't you just love to live here?

Here are the supplies currently available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store that were used to created this card:

Featuring What's Up?

Hello friends!  Today Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is featuring the What's Up? stamp set which includes fun arrow images and a lot of mix and match sentiments.  The inspiration for my card came from the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week and Robin's Splitcoaststampers' Free 4 All Challenge to use the May colors of emerald green and sapphire blue.

Creative Nugget:  Peerless Watercolors were used to make a wash on watercolor paper to get the emerald green color on the background.  When dry, blue Brushos were sprinkled on and spritzed with water.   Arrows cut with the Arrow Dies were used instead of the banners on the sketch.  All of the other design elements followed the sketch.  The What's Up? arrows were stamped in Mowed Lawn and Brilliant Blue and point to the New Beginnings Butterfly which was colored with Copic markers and cut with the matching Butterfly Die.  The circle panel was stamped with the Queen Anne's Lace from the Nature Silhouettes 2 stamp set.  The split sentiment is also from the What's Up? stamp set.

You Warm My Heart

Hello friends!  It is COLD out there, and there is nothing better on a freezing cold morning than a steamy cup of hot cocoa, so out came the adorable new Winnie's Warm Wishes stamp set just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to use for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today.

Creative Nugget:  Wintery papers by Fancy Pants were stitched to Scarlet Jewel card stock and used for the background and the crossed panels on the sketch.  The sentiment from Winnie's Warm Wishes was stamped and the square panel embossed with a snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder.  A little Heart die cut was colored with Wink of Stella, covered with Glossy Accents and added to finish the sentiment.  Winnie was colored with Copic Markers and cut with one of the the Decorative Plaques Dies.  A bow made of metallic thread was added along with some rhinestones for some sparkle to finish the card.

Precious Poppies and a Sketch

Hello, everyone in Blogger Land!  When I saw the sketch on Splitcoaststampers this morning, I thought I would play along.  Ally's sketch was perfect for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Precious Poppies clear stamp set!
Creative Nugget:  I thought it would be fun to have each layer grow in color intensity so the large Poppy image from the set was stamped on the card after stamping off once.  The only color on this layer is clear Wink of Stella.  After masking off an area for the sentiment, the medium poppy image was stamped several times full strength on the second layer.  Gray Copic Markers and Wink of Stella were used to color this layer.  Finally, the large poppy image was stamped and fully colored with Copic Markers and Wink of Stella.  The card really shimmers in real life, but does not show up well in the photo. Some black micro beads and a seam binding bow were added to finish the card!

That's all for today…hope you were inspired by your visit!

Hugs,
Cathymac

Happy Spring!

Happy Spring to all my stamping friends!  Yea...it's finally here!  Now let's pray the weather catches up to the calendar and it starts feeling like spring!

I have two cards to share with you today!

Creative Nugget:  I put my Copic Markers away for this one and thought I'd try my hand at watercoloring.  The zinnias were masked and stamped in a variety of dye based inks and watercolored with reinkers.  The small zinnia was cut with the Zinnia & Leaves Dies that match the Zinnia stamp set by Our Daily Bread Designs.  A panel of Blooming Garden designer paper also by ODBD was stitched down the right side to follow yesterday's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  This panel was attached to a matching piece of DP and mounted on a Vintage Cream card base.  The quote is from the new Quote Collection 4 stamp set just released for ODBD 6th Anniversary.  A bow was added along with several buttons which were for the "Button It Up" challenge today on Splitcoaststampers.  Even though there are only five buttons, there really are six zinnias tucked in there to represent ODBD 6th Year Anniversary!

Creative Nugget:  The background was sponged on this one and the Zinnias overstamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  The Fence Die, sentiment, and six little ladies were added to finish the card.

Here are the supplies used that can be found at the
