Okay, so this is the card I am working on right now. It is the valentine for my dh. The pic on top shows the card so far with a patterned paper strip. The middle pic shows an acrylic heart diamond glazed onto text inked with peeled paint distress ink; I thought the text coincidentally went perfect with the theme :) The pic on the bottom is a cardboard heart "slipped" out of my dd's crafting supplies (yes, it has come to this, stealing craft supplies from my very own 5 year old daughter!); I added white crackle paint (a gift from my BF, Sheryl); once it dryed I inked it with the peeled paint green distress ink pad; then added diamond glaze; finished it off with sparkly blue fiber; will post final card once I complete it!!

2008 XMAS Card
Here is our 2008 Christmas Card. I was going for the simple, but elegant look. I inked the edges of the picture with alcohol inks (using the gold mixative with wild plum). I then matted the pic on burgandy cs and then onto gold cs; embellished with velvet burgandy ribbon on left side of card. Wrote the year with gold pen on bottom right of photo.
As promised, something recent!!
Here is a thank you card I made for a friend. Haven't given it to her yet so hope she doesn't visit my blog until I can get it to her :)
Used snowflake paper from a DCWV winter mat stack; the die cut is called Top Note from SU; this I got from my friend Sheryl who was experimenting. She painted it with blue paint; then clear heat embossed snowflakes; painted over that with white paint and before completely dry wiped over embossed design with damp towel to reveal snowflakes; I added a blue scalloped circle followed by a large blue and small white snowflake with blue jeweled brad in center; added sentiment on white cs, deckle edged and chalked w/blue chalk; added eyelets and threaded with sparkly blue fiber.

PinWheel b-day card
Motorcycle b-day card
Made this b-day card for my DH. He is obviously into motorcycles. Stamped and embossed (with sivler embossing powder) the bike and wing images on black cs and cut out; adhered both with pop-dots; ripped the Harley paper for corner and accent strip under wings. Used metal pattern background paper; added silver square brads (slightly smudged with black ink to take away the shine) as accents.

Dria's 4th B-day party invite
This was the invitation to my daughter's b-day party. The envelopes were actual plastic CD slipcovers; I colored them with pink alcohol ink; I used pink bingo chips and rub-on for her name; the tiaras were pre-painted all different colors which I covered with black acrylic paint and added the pink jewels; the invite slips out and the last pic is of the back side; I embossed ( with silver embossing powder) the word Princess to show thru the front whole in the CD cover. Used rub-on for the circle tag on front to indicate 4th birthday and added pink jewel brad.

Newer stuff coming
Okay, I am almost done posting older cards/projects; will be posting some of my newer stuff soon! I am making an adorable masculine valentine for my DH that I just love. Can't wait until I am finished to post!
Martini Card
Made this card for my friend Cindy's b-day. The martini is a prefabbed wooden embellishment adhered to a hanging round tag; You can't see it from this picture but the writing is printed on acetate and embossed with black embossing powder to set; under the acetate I used chalk to highlight under the words posted on white cs with the brads.
Last Year's Christmas card to my DH
Made this card last Christmas for my dear husband Ted. Used a paint chip card for the body of Santa; black brads for eyes; cut a light blue acrylic flower in half for 'stache; punched out a dot from cs for nose; epoxy sticker for tip of hat; used a buckle punch for buckle; stickers for words on bottom; the card itself is a premade photo holder card.
Faux Cloisonne technique
This card I made for my friend Sheryl's birthday. The Celebrate sentiment was done
w/versamark ink and colored in with coordinating pearlescent chalks; the background paper was created with alcohol inks on photo paper spread around with an air brush; The butterfly was created using a technique I saw done by a guest (Micheal Strong) on the Carol Duvall show. He called it faux cloisonne.
what you will need:
colorful pages torn out of magazines
a stamp with an outline image and internal details a metallic embossing powder/versamark inkpad
cardstock and a glue stick
Here is how it is done:
Stamp image on two coordinating pages of magazines and heat emboss with metallic powder; stamp and emboss the same image on solid cs (preferably black or white); cut out the 4 wings from the images on the magazine pages(you will only use two wings per final butterfly but one wing from each magazine page); discard antenae; glue opposite wings over the image embossed on cs (a glue stick works best); you will need to place a scrap piece of paper over the image and gently burnish the wings down. This will leave you with the metallic edges and antenae showing from the cs image and the embossed edges and magazine pages showing.
Here I cut cs into a square and matted on another piece of cs before adhering it to the card. On my butterfly the left wing was actually an image of a field of yellow flowers and the right wing was from an image of macaroni and cheese.

Mom's B-day card
Made this card for my mom last year; was done with alcohol inks on photo paper; used an airbrush gun to move ink around on paper to create the "splat" effect; printed happy birthday on transparency and heat embossed with black embossing powders to set ink---anchored down with round purple eyelets; embellished with blue&green splat shaped eyelets on corners.

Archeological Dig Birthday Invite
This was the invite for my son's b-day party last year. The theme was an Archeological Dig. I used gold paper and gold embossed lines for steps and geometric designs for top piece. Had to make my own templete for the pyramid design. Attached thin gold ribbon to aid in keeping the top on and keeping it closed.
Fish Card
This card is pretty straight forward. I used a stamp from the SU Plaid set in both turquoise and brown ink to create the background paper; a SU wheel for the seashell background; I believe the fish stamp was from Club Stamp; embellished with two different ribbons and copper brads. Sorry that the lighting is poor.........
To create this faux antique look I began by clear embossing flourishes on black cs; then painted it with pink acrylic paint. Before completely dry, I used a damp papertowel to wipe paint from flourishes; also painted black brads w/pink paint and wiped a little bit to match effect. Dry embossed pink cs for background.
