Just like new!!
Well, 8 years old but very clean! Hadn't planned to clean the clothes dryer today but as many times, things just happen. After cleaning the filter I thought it had been awhile since I had cleaned the space beneath the filter...about a year. The cleaning instruction paper says to call an "authorized repairman" to clean that area every 18 months. WHAT??!! Don't they realize it costs $75 to $100 just to have one of those persons step into the house and that doesn't include any work that may be done. All it takes is to take out 2 screws. Of course I do have some bruising on my arm from the metal ledge I had to work around to get at the lint. Small price to pay though. The only reason I read about the authorized guy was because I was going to take a back panel off and vac the space and thought maybe should check instructions. There was very little lint there but oh my the lint below the filter was awful. Too much for laundry for 2 people. Most of the donated fabric I get for the Lutheran World Relief quilts has not been washed so my washer and dryer really get a workout. The filter has to be changed midway through the drying with some of the fabrics.
Have 3 tops ready for the quilters tomorrow. No pictures because of blogger.
The rail fence is about 3/4 pieced. No pic!
Jerry finally heard from his doctor. He has bulging disks in the lumbar spine, S1 to L2. An appointment is being made with a surgeon. Sure hope he can get pain relief soon.

Ooh, I bet my dryer is in the same condition. Best wishes to hubby re the back surgeon consult.
It's amazing what a you can do for yourself instead of calling a repair person. Good for you. Hope your hubby gets better or feels better soon. My fingers are crossed. Take care.
Why call a repairman when a woman is around! There is not much we can't do when we set our mind to it. Best wishes to your hubby. I hope he feels better soon.
We can do anything that the repair man can do, right? Thanks for the reminder to clean my dryer.
Stumbled upon your blog while reading another and was so pleased to hear about your dedication to quilting. Part of my job at Lutheran World Relief is to travel overseas and see the distribution of quilts and kits, and another part of my job is to visit people in congregations like yours and encourage you in this important ministry we share.
You really are changing lives through your quilts. And if you'd like to see for yourself, I'd recommend our video Ordinary to Extraordinary - all about the quilts and kits and following a distribution to communities in Mali. You can view it online or order the DVD for free.
Thank you for the important ministry you do. If we can be a resource for you or your quilting group don’t hesitate to ask.
Blessings to you,
Dan from Lutheran World Relief
Ouch....poor Jerry. I hope that he can get some relief soon as that has got to be really painful.
Way to go on the dryer cleaning.
Looks like you did a great job cleaning the dryer vent! Think of the $ you saved!
Hope your husband gets good news from the back surgeon and that he is soon in tip-top shape and free from pain!
Looks like you've discovered a new career possibility.
I hope you weren't showing any plumber's crack! :>)
Hey Dan,,,Mom would make a great ambassador for your organization. I think she still has a valid passport.
