To start, when beginning to understand the motives as to why conquistadors including some by the ... more To start, when beginning to understand the motives as to why conquistadors including some by the name of Bernal Diaz del Castillo and another named Hernando Cortes we have to look at the letters by Castillo that he exchanged and sent in his conquest for New Spain. Why was this so important and what did it really mean? These men were in search for lands that were rich with resources and of things that would make them wealthy. They were in search of silver, gold, and other jewels. These men also intended on forming settlements as noted on Castillo's letters. However, Governor Diego Velazquez was skeptical of even settling since he was interested in trading the resources.

In order to answer the question on why the Soviet Union collapse we must first take a look at wha... more In order to answer the question on why the Soviet Union collapse we must first take a look at what happened. The Soviet Union collapsed when Mikhail Gorbachev was in power in 1991 as General Secretary of the Communist Party. Gorbachev made some very difficult decisions in an effort to help booster the economy of Russia in the face of failing socialist central planning. He pursued policies like Glasnost and Perestroika and even more Destalinization. He instituted democratization. The collapse happened because for the first time Soviets was one questioning the system and two wanted to look at an alternative to their socialist system.
