Die Cut Divas ~ Fancy Edges with Frantic Stamper

It's our last challenge of 2024 at Die Cut Divas. Our sponsor this month is Frantic Stamper. They sell dies they manufacture for themselves but also products by many of our favorite stamping companies. They will be giving our winner two of their fabulous dies.

Our challenge this month is

FANCY/UNEVEN EDGE ON AT LEAST ONE OF THE EDGES OF A CARD

Here's my card

I decided to make a shaped card using Spellbinders' Nestabilities - Scalloped Circles small dies, which are available from Frantic Stampers. Not only is this a shaped card but also a stacked card, connected with brads.

I used Christmas patterned paper and also Sizzix circle dies and a 1 1/2" EK Success circle punch for the varied layers. For the top layer, I heat embossed using The Stamping Village's Holiday Seals with gold embossing powder on red cardstock. The bottom layer opens up to provide a space for a message.

We'd love to see your fancy edge creations in our gallery.

Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #483

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More! This will be our final challenge for 2024 as we're taking a bit of a break. We'll be back January 14, 2025.

Here's my birthday card

I actually made this card with a recipient in mind. We're going to be travelling in 2025 and I'm letting him know specifics with this card. Here's the inside of the card.

For the front of the card, I used Unity Stamps' Kit of the Month for 6/18 - We Can Rise set. I stamped the luggage with Versafine Onyx Black ink on 100 lb bristol. I added color with distress inks - ground espresso, gathered twigs, rusty hinge, brushed corduroy, salty ocean, weathered wood, mowed lawn, ripe persimmon, peacock feathers. I smooshed the ink on a plastic place mat and picked up the color with a paint brush and a little water. I let the ink dry and then die cut with a My Favorite Things Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX die-namics die. The sentiment using Papertrey Ink's Keep It Simple: Birthday stamp set was stamped on a brown A2 card panel. I adhered the focal image onto the panel with double-sided tape, which was then adhered to a white A2 card base also with double-sided tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Unity Stamp set on the inside and with a red pen, added the "get" and "!" to complete my birthday card.

We'd love to see your birthday cards in our gallery. We'll see you in the new year!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #607

Happy Monday Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's our sketch

Here's my card

I was inspired by the Christmas-inspired sketch and since Christmas is coming quickly, I thought I'd make a Christmas card too. For the label, I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities Label Eight etched die and some patterned paper. For the foliage, I used a Paper Smooches' Wreath Builder die, a Gina K Design's Foliage Fillers die and an Elizabeth Craft Design's Winter Greens die. I arranged the foliage and glued them into place on a natural A2 panel. Then, I glued the label. For the sentiment, I used a scrap of red cardstock and The Ton's Holiday Flourish stamp set with silver embossing powder. i cut the red cardstock into a sentiment strip and cut two fish-tail ends. I trimmed the panel and then adhered it to a green A2 card panel, which was then adhered to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your work in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #280

Are you ready for a clean and simple challenge? We have one at AAA Cards that we hope will inspire you to get crafty.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with a light pink A2 card panel and Simon Says STAMP's Simple Patterns Trio stencils. I used my Wendy Vecchi's MAKE ART stay-tion to hold the panel and stencil in place. I added distress inks - candied apple, abandoned coral, picked raspberry applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used the same distress inks on a scrap of the same pink cardstock, which I used to die cut the hearts using a Memory Box's Cherub Hearts die. I glued the hearts in place. For the sentiment, I used Paper Smooches' Word Salad stamp set with Concord & 9's Dove ink. I adhered the completed panel to a white A2 card base to finish my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Addicted to CAS ~ Challenge #273

This will be our last challenge at Addicted to CAS until January 11th, 2025. We will be taking a brief vacation for the holiday season. Our code word is

Isn't this the perfect word for winter in the Northern Hemisphere? Here's my card

For my card, I used Simon Hurley's Crop & Create Fall 2024 stamp set and die set which I received as part of the Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Fall 2024 event. I stamped the adorable penguin with Versafine Onyx Black ink on 96 lb bristol. I added color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in Cobalt Blue, Dull Blue, Yellow and Gina K Design's Wild Lilac and a water brush. When the ink dried, I die cut the image with the coordinating die. For the snow beneath the penguin's feet, I applied some Simon Hurley's Astro Paste in Frostbite on a white A2 card panel. For the pompom on the penguin's toque, I applied some Simon Hurley's Astro Paste in Clear Skies with my finger. Yes, with my finger - no palette knife or other tool required. Note - after application, I'd suggest washing your finger before the paste dried! LOL! The Astro Paste gives some texture and sparkle (which is very difficult to photograph). For the sentiment, I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on a scrap of blue cardstock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment out and glued it in place. I trimmed the A2 panel slightly and then adhered it to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you were inspired by our Code Word - Brrr in our gallery.

Try A Sketch on Tuesday ~ Challenge #660

Can't believe that we're already in December! Honestly, where does the time go? One minute, I'm complaining because it's so hot in July and then "poof", it's December.

Well, we have a new challenge starting at Try A Sketch On Tuesday

Here's my take on this sketch

For my card, I thought I'd go with a snowflake theme. I started by embossing a white A2 card panel with Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - Snowflakes. I sprited the card panel lightly with water. This helps prevent "cracking" of the cardstock through the embossing process. I then cut the A2 panel, removing a sliver of paper on each diagonal cut. I die cut the center snowflake using Simon Says STAMP's Alexis snowflake die and silver shimmer cardstock. I also cut two thin strips of the same silver shimmer cardstock. I adhered the embossed triangle pieces and the silver strips to a white A2 card base. I glued the snowflake in place. For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts' Winter Silhouettes stamp set with Hero Arts Cornflower ink on white cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment strip down and ink blended some tumbled glass distress ink along the edges. I glued the sentiment strip in place to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

Die Cut Divas ~ Frantic Stamper Month

It's time for our last challenge of 2024 at Die Cut Divas.

For my FANCY/UNEVEN EDGE, I used PinkFresh Studio's Essentials Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die which is available at Frantic Stamper for the frame of the card. For the image, I started by ink blending some white cardstock with Gina K Design's Tangerine Twist, Passionate Pink and Blue Raspberry inks with oval ink blending brushes trying to mimic a sunset. I then stamped the trees using Gina K Design's Friendly Silhouettes stamp set. I cut the white cardstock to fit behind the frame and also stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set. To make this into a card, I adhered a white card base 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" behind the black frame.

We'd love to see your FANCY/UNEVEN EDGE creations in our gallery this month.
