Holly Woodcock on Instagram: "Soooo pleased with how the living room has turned out now we’ve finished building the alcove cupboards A bit more info on them as I’ve had so many replies to my stories asking for more… ✨ They’re from @jalidesign and are made bespoke ✨ I used the Jali online design tool to design both - it’s so easy (and fun!) to use and you can design pretty much any piece of furniture for any space, either built in or standalone ✨ It’s as easy as following the (clear) instructions to build (as easy as Ikea furniture) and then fixing to the wall, caulking and painting to finish ✨ I can’t stress enough however how important accurate measuring is though. Katie | Home & lifestyle creator on Instagram: "Alcove cabinet Q&A 🌿 Today I’m answering one of my most commonly asked questions - how did you make your alcove cabinets? This is by far my favourite part of the living room and has really helped us to create a modern country space. Our fab joiner made and fitted these for us and they’re made entirely from MDF. Here’s how it was done; The cabinet carcasses were assembled elsewhere and then fitted. We added pine moulding from @bandq_uk to the doors and some simple black handles from @amazonuk. To keep costs down but retain a premium look, the cabinet tops and shelves were made from two 18mm sheets of MDF joined together. It’s very difficult to see the join once they’re sanded, primed and painted. Anyway, this is what we paid.. ✨ £495 for the carpenter.
