I’ve been working on this series for about 6 mths (in my head) and it’s finally manifested in my “Sweet Lips” fishies, and now the jewel in the crown, the whale. All these pieces will be parts of Totems. I made some whales last year but wasn’t happy with them and put them on hold. The idea however just kept tickling me until I was ready to try again. I sometimes have an idea for a piece that is incredibly persistent and won’t leave me alone ….it niggles me until I give it a go. The idea isn’t always successful right away and can sometimes take several attempts before I’m satisfied. Do you find this in your studio practice? Do you persevere with an idea even if your first attempts fail?
