Nicole Story on Instagram: "Here is the unedited version.🎥 So I only do this when I’m foiling parallel to the part line. Foiling like this saves time and covers more area BUT the reason I like to zigzag right at the part is bc it could become uneven if it’s not perfectly parted where they wear their hair all the time…even if it’s just slightly off. I’ve done a whole head of foils JUST zigzag parting and it came out beautifully and I didn’t have to shadow root. This specific instance we chose to shadow root regardless bc it tends to make her face frame pop and extends the life of her foil! I hope this helps!🫶🏼 Next time she comes in for an extension push up I will post her roots so you can see exactly what it looks like. #blondehairspecialist #foilingtechnique #livedinblonde #tea Full Head Blonde Foils Root Stretch, Part Line Foils, How To Shadow Root, Highlights With Side Bangs, How To Do Face Framing Highlights, Highlights In The Front Of Hair Only, Diy Hair Foils, Foils Hair Blonde, Face Framing Foils

To achieve a shadow root look, it is best to start with hair bleached up to the roots, then apply the shadow root technique as a final step. It is easier to apply a darker shade from roots to mid-length than to use highlights from mid-length upwards. So, if you already have a shadow root and want to bleach your hair again, it is better to bleach your hair all over then redo the shadow roots afterward.

Jack Martin on Instagram: "If you want to try to take your client to her natural hair color my first advice to you is to ask your client to grow her natural roots about 3-4 inches so you can have a clear view of her root pattern that you can easily see it and match the previously colored hair to her roots pattern. Never alter or touch her natural roots because if you do you will create another line of demarcation and that’s what you need to stay away from. For this transformation I used @pulpriothair cream bleach with 20 vol developer until I reached level 10 pale blonde. I then used @pravana platinum express toner for about 15 minutes with zero lift developer to cancel all the yellow tone, then I used pravana 8sbv ( Smokey series) to create the low lights based on the roots pattern.
