It explores the interactions between institutional quality, energy transition initiatives, and economic growth, aiming to understand how strong institutions can facilitate a successful transition. The empirical analysis employs a simultaneous equations model to identify institutional factors that can either support or hinder the energy transition and its influence on economic growth. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and economic stakeholders, underscoring the critical importance of robust institutions in driving the energy transition process and stimulating economic growth in the MENA region from 2000 to 2022.

Design/methodology/approach-The multivariate regression model is used for hypothesis testing using a sample of 224 listed observations on Tunisian Stock Exchange during 2014-2020. An exploratory factor analysis of four variables (chief executive officer (CEO) duality, CEO tenure, CEO seniority and CEO age) is used for calculating a unique index assessing the managerial entrenchment. Findings-The results show a negative and significant relationship between audit quality and managerial entrenchment. The authors also find that firm characteristics affect management entrenchment. Precisely, corporate financial performance and firm leverage show positive connections with managerial entrenchment (ME). Additional analysis confirms the negative impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on managerial entrenchment level. Practical implications-The study's findings have practical implications that may be useful to different stakeholders, policymakers and regulatory bodies interested in reducing management entrenchment. This study offers signals to shareholders about specific governance attributes, namely audit quality, that control the extent of manager's entrenchment. Originality/value-The originality of this paper consists in focusing on developing countries, namely the Tunisian context; while the managerial entrenchment phenomena has been widely examined in developed markets. Moreover, contrary to the overwhelming majority of previous studies that has used individual indexes for evaluating the entrenchment, the authors calculate a mixed index of managerial entrenchment using the principal component analysis based on four governance mechanisms (CEO duality, CEO age, CEO seniority and CEO tenure).

Second, our empirical contribution is based on the use of simultaneous equation models. Third, we analyze the results found while showing to what extent FDI remains effective in slowing economic growth in an institutional context for our study sample, which was considered the Arab world.

We will show in detail the importance of state intervention in its power to reduce this phenomenon (corruption) in the management of resources (public expenditure) countries since corruption as plague both social and economic, may hinder the economic development especially in the sectors of education and health. In part, we will try to study the effects of corruption control on the quality and yields of public education and health services for the MENA region during the fixed period .

Our empirical attempt tries to clarify the direct and indirect effects of the efficiency of the government on the development of public spending for the health sector during the 1984-2014 period in the MENA region while using the model of simultaneous equations.

Using control variables chosen during a reading of the theoretical and empirical review of the determinants of economic growth in the context of responding to the problem posed for the case of Tunisia. In the first step, it is appropriate to present the methodology of analysis that we will adapt in our study, where the identification of the theoretical and empirical bases combined with the specification of our empirical model occupies a place of honor. The second step consists in gathering the empirical results with the help of the ARDL modelling, the interpretations of this study in Short term (ST) as well as in Long term (LT) accompanied with some lessons for a possible development strategy of the tourist sector.

Indeed, the price of Bitcoin is known to vary widely. Meanwhile, as Bitcoin's use cases grow, mature, and grow, hype and controversy have swirled. As with any design or commodity on the market, bitcoin trading and financial instruments have quickly followed the public adoption of bitcoin and continue to grow. We will carry out a detailed analysis of Bitcoin prices using time series of the Box-Jenkins model, in particular the closing price. Which Traders will then use.

Using daily data from January 22, 2020, to December 14, 2022, the research reveals a significant increase in overall cryptocurrency market volatility during the pandemic. Contrary to the initial vision of cryptocurrencies as efficient transaction mediums, the study suggests that heightened volatility challenges their suitability for rapid settlement. Additionally, the findings highlight cryptocurrencies’ speculative nature, lacking intrinsic ties to tangible assets and proving ineffective as secure havens or hedges against inflation. The dynamic and unpredictable nature of cryptocurrencies poses challenges to their envisioned roles in the financial landscape, prompting a reevaluation of their utility and stability amid global economic uncertainties.

To do this, we are conducting regressions on simultaneous equation models for the region MENA and East Asia and the Pacific. First, we support a direct relationship between "Islamic financial development and economic growth". Next, our study highlights the indirect effects of Islamic financial development on economic growth through FDI. Finally, our results support significant effects of financial development in improving socioeconomic conditions over the period 1990-2018.

How can we measure the concept of digitization, and how can we theoretically justify the conceptualization of these measures?
What is the role of public policy actions in enhancing the efficiency of public services while reducing energy consumption?
What is the impact of digitization on wealth creation in the MENA region?
How does energy consumption affect the economy of the MENA region?
What are the effective energy management policy strategies that can have significant effects in the context of digitization on the economies of the MENA region?
The answers to these questions will provide a useful foundation for formulating the conceptual model and hypotheses of our research.
