A fanbase is the community of fans of a particular movie, series, character, pairing, or trope. It differs from a fandom in that "fandom" often refers to the source material, while the "fanbase" is the fans themselves. Sometimes "fandom" is used to refer to the community of fans, but a "fanbase" is generally understood to be more specifically focused.
