Interview with a star - Aleksa (CitrusCat)
- Please tell us a little bit about yourself
What can I tell about myself?
I'm 23, I have a young, ambitious and full of hope for a brighter future. :)
By education I am a psychologist, but psychology does not attract me as a profession.
I'm a self taught handmade artist trying to turn my favorite hobby into life style and profession.
I create unusual jewelry. But sometimes I move in the other direction. Spontaneously I can start making greeting cards or decorative items for the home. In short, I am a creative person and quite unpredictable even to myself. I guess that's my trick.
- How long have you been creating? How did your journey in art and creativity begin?
I loved to make things since I was small. As far as I can remember as a child I drew a lot, asked my grandmother taught me to embroider. Then I wanted to make clothes and I wanted to be a designer.
My path to the creation of jewelry was long. At some point I started to sew felt brooches.
After a while I realized that I like to make jewelry and I started trying different techniques and materials.
Now I’m fond of creating resin jewelry. I chose this material and technique because it allows me to create different things without limiting the imagination.
In future I want to try to use other materials and techniques.
-What is the most important about your work?
I can identify several aspects that are important to my business. This is a good mood, inspiration, and support of my family
In my work I like the fact that I’m the owner of business and can do what I want.
No doubt, it creates a good mood which I put in my work.
One of the most important events for my business was opening a Citrus Сat shop on Etsy. This was a good incentive for me.
- What would you say makes your shop unique?
The original approach to the creation of my jewelry is making them unique.
I am a self-taught and eclectic artist, who works with a variety of techniques.
My jewelry is a world full of colors of life.
With my jewelry I want to make the world more beautiful and colorful.
I hope you enjoy my creations, as much as I enjoyed creating them!
Please come to my Citrus Cat (www.CitrusCat.etsy.com) store. And get a portion of happiness. :)

Interview with a star - Inessa (SmaFactory)
- Please tell us a little bit about yourself
Hello! My name is Inessa, I live and work in Kyiv, Ukraine, I’m a proud mama of a beautiful 6 year old son. Recently I managed to work as a mediaplanner in advertising agency by day and jewelry designer by night, but now I decided to quit my job to became full-time jewellery maker. I'm extremely happy to be doing what I love.
- How long have you been creating? How did your journey in art and creativity begin?
I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands. As a child, I enjoyed taking children's art classes, crafts, I attended music school for classical piano study...
About three years ago I discovered stained glass paints and that’s how my craft addiction started. My first work was a glass tea cups that I painted with cute orange flowers. As a self-taught crafter, I searched for a tutorials on the web, I learned basic tips and techniques on a related craft forums…
Shortly after this I found a great site about polymer clay. I was intrigued by polymer clay jewelery and tried to make a piece of my own. It was so exciting!
I’ve been working with polymer clay now for about 2 years, and there is still so much to learn, but I really love it!
- What items do you carry in your shop?
I am a self-taught and eclectic artist, who works with a variety of techniques. I have some jewelry created in stone-imitation technique, some in decoupage, some is hand sculpted or molded and I use texture on clay technique in my jewelry also. I am fascinated with the process of jewelry making. I strive to always improve on my designs and techniques and to make jewelry that is creative, lovely and easy to wear.
- What are your main sources of inspiration?
Inspiration comes from everywhere and everything: daily life, nature, seasons, daydreams, love… and whatever I see.
But most of all my inspiration comes from nature. Gardening is another passion of mine. I love growing flowers, especially roses. That’s why there are so many flower-themed jewelry in my shop.
- Do you have a favorite item you have made?
Yes, that’s my Ancient Leaves earrings, which are molded from real leaves. They looks so refined because of the beautiful texture, and they are very lightweight too.
- Do you have a Favorite quote you'd like to share with us?
Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.

Garnet, stone of the month of January
The name "garnet" comes from the Latin word "Granatus" which means "grain", "seed".
People believe that the Garnet brings happiness into your heart, fills you with energy and optimism. Those who wear the mineral gain authority and power. The stone helps you find true love.
Particularly red color Garnet is recommended for emotional people full of passion and energy, as it brings them happiness, success. The gem stimulates creativity.
Passive people with a low emotional level should not wear the Garnet. It may exhaust them, and even cause a serious nervous problem.
Red Garnets help most women become peaceful, prudent and wise. Green Garnets assists in planning your time and money reasonably.
Wearing this mineral provokes positivity and good mood. You should not use the stone's power and set it aside for a while if you need to relax and get some rest.
The Garnet is a talisman for sculptors, artists, poets, musicians, designers, producers, actors and people who's success depends on passion and energy.
Here is a collection of beautiful Garnets from our team, enjoy!

Wonderful things wednesday - Hanukkah
Jews believe that a miracle occured during the re-dedicatipon of the temple. There was only enough oil to light the temple's menorah for one day. Miraculously, flame remained lit for eight days and nights, giving enough time to find more oil to sustain the fire.
Hanukkah is also called the "Festival of Lights" and its celebrations include games, gifts, eating traditional foods and lighting a new candle on the menorah each night.
In our previous post we placed a question:
How many candles do you need to light the menorah for all 8 days? Do not forget that each evening you need the shamash…
Here is the answer:
