Christine on Instagram: "The most asked ‘how-to’ questions for our secret door: Q:How does it stay closed? A: We use a magnet to hold it closed. It’s fixed to the top of the door and only visible when it’s open. When it’s closed the magnet on the door hits the back of the top horizontal batton where the magnet closer is fixed. Q: Do you have a door frame? A: No, we used the design and position of battons to act as a door stop and conceal the door when closed. Having a batton at the top means there is no light or gap visible when the door is closed. Q:What type of hinges? A: We used hinges off an existing door- they are heavy duty and allow the door to open 360 degrees.
