THE HARBOUR AT BRIXHAM COVERS 108 ACRES AND IS HOME TO NUMEROUS VESSELS FROM A STILL LARGE WORKING FISHING FLEET AS WELL AS MANY PLEASURE CRAFT. PROTECTING THIS EXPANSE OF WATER IS THE MASSIVE STRUCTURE OF BRIXHAM BREAKWATER STRETCHING FOR HALF A MILE INTO TORBAY. THE END OF THE BREAKWATER IS MARKED BY A 9 METRE HIGH CAST IRON LIGHTHOUSE PAINTED WHITE AND HAS A LANTERN, GALLERY AND IS ACCESSED VIA A SMALL DOOR ON ITS SIDE.
