If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

• External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
• sandbox → graffiti wall
• stub tagging → Article status

Thanks a lot for adding content and improving the site!

I'm sorry we've had some disagreements already. On "Learn", thanks for pointing out that Wikivoyage:Where you can stick it contradicts with an insufficiently documented consensus on what to list and where. You are acting in completely good faith. I've started a thread, Wikivoyage talk:Listings#"Learn" listings, so that this can be clarified. I should add that I'm not personally wedded to the current consensus and wouldn't mind if we listed all colleges, but that's only a personal opinion.

One other thing is that while there is indeed a way to include Wikipedia links in listings, the standard format uses Wikivoyage listing templates, not inline links; Wikivoyage:Links to Wikipedia covers this, but it's possible that it's not clear enough.

Content is the most important thing, though, and I'll try to keep out of your way a little more.

I'd like to add my welcome, and thanks for your contributions. But I think we should remember that Wikivoyage is a guide for visitors to a place, not for its residents. Information like access to public library services for residents, and colleges in nearby towns doesn't belong here. The info on a college should be listed in the article for the town or city in which it is located. Best regards, Ground Zero (talk) 12:22, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Zcarstvnz, I am sorry that you feel that you have had a rough start in Wikivoyage. I hope that you will remember that Wikivoyage calls itself "the free travel guide that anyone can edit". Your contributions (and mine and Ikan's) can and will be changed by other editors. That's how a collaborative project works. Ikan and I have certainly had a lot of disagreements about edits, but we've also worked together on more occasions to improve Wikivoyage. I don't agree with all of Wikivoyage's policies, but I do accept them because they help prevent edit disputes and help make Wikivoyage easier for readers to find their way around. And when I've disagreed with policies, I've proposed changes. Some of them have been accepted, and others haven't been. This too is how collaborative projects work, for better or for worse. I took a look at the Schaumburg article edit history, and see that most of your contributions remain in the article. Thank you again for these edits. Time and date formatting

Some quick tips to help you with time and date formatting (see WV:tdf for more details):

• For days of the week, we use the shortest forms we can: M Tu W Th F Sa Su.
• To show two days of the week, we use a space: "F Sa" or "Tu Th".
• To show a range of days, we use a hyphen or dash: M-Sa.
• In countries that use a 12-hour clock (like the U.S.), we use this format: 9AM-5:30PM, and we use "noon" and "midnight" instead of 12PM and 12AM, which can confuse people.

Using the same formatting throughout an article makes it easier to read. I hope that helps. Thanks, Ground Zero (talk) 15:21, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

How am I doing?

Hello!

I saw your message on my talk page and wanted to begin fixing the wikidata for the articles I added banners to. Before I went all in, I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I updated the wikidata for Atwater as a test, following https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Category:Banner_missing_from_Wikidata. Did I do it correctly?

Azerbaijani phone numbers

I see you added the country prefix to some numbers, where I left the (025) as on the source page. Are you sure the (025) xxx should be +994 025 xxx? I suspect the zero should be left out, but as I do not know I left it as is – those travelling to Azerbaijan will need to figure that out anyway, so better give a local number than a possibly wrong international one. Wikivoyage:Phone numbers gives no guidance and Azerbaijan only hints. --LPfi (talk) 08:46, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia's article on telephone numbers in Azerbaijan and the How to Call Abroad website say that for Lankaran, phone numbers should start with +994 25. The only countries where the zero is not taken off are Italy, San Marino and the Vatican. But there are countries where the country code is +20 (Egypt) or +30 {Greece) where in a practical sense, it is like adding +2 or +3 and keeping the zero. Gizza ^(roam) 08:54, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
