Arepo is a highly residential suburb situated in Ogun state, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. It is regarded on the property market as one of the high value property markets around the environs of Lagos, thus earning the nickname "Magodo phase III". Due to its wide variety of residential estates with direct access to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and proximity to Lagos, it is regarded as a prime location. It is a community just on the outskirts of Lagos State, hence being categorised along with other similarly located areas, as "New Lagos". It is situated in the Obafemi Owode Local council of Ogun state.

Understand

[edit]

Arepo is a location on the fringes of Ogun state in which there are many high-class residential estates; as a result it is often categorised informally as a part of Lagos state. It is most famous for its clustered estates and prices of properties in the vicinity.

It is situated just after the infamous Long bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, for those coming from Lagos; and it is just after Magboro and MFM City when travelling down towards Lagos along the expressway.

Opposite the Arepo suburb is another resdiential area on the other side of the express called Punch, so named after the Punch newspaper office at the junction, where other high-value residential estates are also situated.

Get in

[edit]

There are various options by which one can get to Arepo:

For those coming from within Lagos, one can take a bus going towards Mowe/Ibafo and highlight from the bus when the vehicle gets to the Arepo bus stop. It is necessary to pay attention to what the driver/conductor says so that one doesnt miss the bus stop. Usually, the bus driver conductor asks for each passenger's bus stop before embarking on the journey.

One could also embark on the journey from Berger by taking a direct bus to Arepo by boarding a vehicle going towards Arepo/Magboro for about ₦100 to ₦200

For travellers arriving from outside Lagos, one should highlight from the vehicle at the Arepo bus stop just after Magboro and MFM City. Usually, one should inform and often remind the driver about the bus stop.

For travellers coming from axes outside the Lagos-Ibadan expressway corridor, they would have to link up with vehicles embarking on journeys along the corridor and moving towards the location of Arepo.
