Welcome to the August 2013 edition of the Bugle!

Just when we'd highlighted that June's tally of Featured and A-Class articles was the highest this year, along comes July's list to break the record again...! This is a tribute not only to the editors and nominators of these quality articles, but to the reviewers who offer constructive criticism, and ultimately get behind the articles' promotion.

On that note, the MilHist reviewing awards for April–June were handed out last month. Dank, Nikkimaria, and AustralianRupert topped the list; you can see everyone's name here. Our thanks and congratulations to all of them.

Congratulations also to Cdtew and Tomobe03 on their inaugural A-Class medals, which we're sure will be only the first of many.

Among our regular departments this month, Nick-D's book review highlights a first-hand account of the special forces raid that led to the death of Osama bin Laden, and Sturmvogel_66's op-ed unveils his secrets to prolific contribution.

Don't forget that the Bugle is always looking for submissions in the form of news, book or other media reviews, and op-eds. You can leave draft contributions for a future issue at the newsroom, or ping the editors to review material in your user space.
