Suspected sockpuppets

Both editors (TwoHorned and Xinheart) are editing and edit-warring at the same articles (currently articles about Rene Guenon, and previously many other articles) and adding/defending the same edits, like:

changing the Neo-Advaita category change by Xinheart [1] TwoHorned defends Xinhearts change TwoHorned defends Xinhearts change TwoHorned defends Xinhearts edit [2]
removing a fact Xinheart removes fact TwoHorned removes same fact
or removing wikipedia article tags about primary sources [3] [4] (and earlier edits)

All socks are doing (often exactly) the same edits in the same articles. They are active at articles about Rene Guenon, Islam, Neoconservatism, Zionism, Counter Jihad and Hinduism.

He also used his Xinheart sock to add the same pov and content like his other socks to articles about neoconservatism and counter jihad and edit warring with @Jason from nyc:. And at the Koenraad Elst article both socks were adding and edit warring for the same content [5] [6] [7]

Previously TwoHorned was also adding antisemitic fringe conspiracy theories and TwoHorned was suspected there by another user for using sockpuppets, see: [8].

The earliest sock accounts are AlexOriens and TwoHorned. Both account names are very likely a reference to Alexander the Great (who is known as the two-horned one in Islam). Those two socks were already editing the same articles at the same time. Later he created his newest (?) sock Xinheart.

TwoHorned was also editing in the French wikipedia where his multiple accounts were already indef blocked due to sockpuppetry [9] [10] User:Al_Batard User:Colorix User:Coredumped User:AlexOriens User:Mysocks User:Narayana. On the French wikipedia, one of his socks was claiming that he is not TwoHorned because the CU in the French wikipedia was negative, see: [11], but looking up the aptly named user account MySocks shows that he was lying and it was another one his socks which was blocked a few months later, see [12]. He is very likely also a sock of User:BrickSense, User:Aulus, User:Camino, User:Kastagnet and User:TaRaceBoulba (which are also banned users who edited Rene Guenon).

But it seems that in the English wikipedia he is continuing his socking. His socks on English wikipedia were only blocked for edit warring and also for using multiple accounts/block evasion (see block log).

His newest known sock is Xinheart who started editing already in July 2015. His first edit added this note on his userpage: "Account created in July 2015 out of an IP address on demand of other users.", which means a) that he forgets to mention that he had already a couple of sock accounts and b) that he has also been socking with an IP account.

At the Gog and Magog article [13], User @PiCo: opened an RFC to solve an issue about which Xinheart and his IPs were edit-warring. However, the first reply came from his sock TwoHorned who claimed that he is "a little bit surprised of the recent discussion" and starts defending all of Xinhearts positions. Sock TwoHorned replies to PiCo in the RFC:

I think that Xinheart is right when he writes that PiCo has done edit-warring on the subject...So I think may be PiCo could have explained tn the TP why he deleted the passage, instead of reverting Xinheart many times. [14]

Then starts a long RfC discussion with the two socks Xinheart and TwoHorned taking turns defending the same positions against User:PiCo.

At the Dispute resolution noticeboard, sock Xinheart defends himself by claiming that his "respectable and learned" sock TwoHorned and an anonymous IP (another sock of his) reached the consensus that TwoHorned's position is right. [15]

On the talkpage of Rene Guenon (at frwiki) he was doing the same thing: his socks Al_Batard, MySocks and his other socks are defending the TwoHorned position against the other editors.

There is very strong behavioural evidence that TwoHorned and Xinheart is continuing his socking in the English wikipedia at Rene Guenon and other articles and his disruptive edit warring. It should also be checked if there are other socks or sleeper accounts. (AlexOriens and Locked522 are older accounts. The first one is almost surely a sock of TwoHorned, the Locked522 account is a possible sock and was also editing articles about Rene Guenon, Islam and Hinduism). I've blocked the alleged master and the filer for 48 hours for edit warring. This case strikes me as a retaliatory filing because the filer (a new editor) and the master don't agree. TwoHorned has resurrected one of his sleeper socks (created in 2015) for edit warring. TwoHorned/Xinheart's favorite topic areas are Rene Guenon, Koenraad Elst and Hinduism. (see [17])

  • Just like TwoHorned, the new sock edits articles about Rene Guenon [18] [19]
  • His userpage says he is studying "metaphysics". Metaphysics is a key term in the work of Rene Guenon. [20]
  • Just like TwoHorned, he also edits the Hindu Kush article [21] example from TwoHorned: [22]
  • Just like TwoHorned, he also writes libelous material about Koenraad Elst [23] [24]
  • He uses the same edit summary as TwoHorned, calling a revert "restitution" [25] example from TwoHorned: [26] Dekacarandaebonelm (talk) 22:23, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A sock of TwoHorned was recently blocked (User:Buzzor) and TwoHorned created a new sock Unamroma which has been reverting the Rene Guenon article (TwoHorned and his socks were very active at this article) to TwoHorned's preferred version. For example, he removes the same category that his socks TwoHorned and Xinheart were changing [27] change by Xinheart [28] TwoHorned defends Xinhearts change TwoHorned defends Xinhearts change TwoHorned defends Xinhearts edit [29]

And he removes the same information that his other socks were objecting [30]. And his reverts were adding back the copyvios that his other socks were inserting previously multiple times [31] [32]. The new sock has so far only been editing the Rene Guenon article (where TwoHorned's socks were very active), and has consistently been reverting back the article to TwoHorned's preferred version. (In frwiki, where he is also banned, he has also created the new sock "Shravan"). Together with these 3 new socks, there are now 22 socks of this user on his SPI page (en and fr wiki, and not counting IP socks). Dekacarandaebonelm (talk) 13:26, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

TwoHorned's sock "MySocks" was also claiming that he was innocent before being confirmed as a sock. I have also not "destroyed" Gatti's work, as the sock claims. All edits of the sock were reverts to TwoHorned's preferred versions of the Rene Guenon article. He has not done anything else, and not edited any other articles. In TwoHorned's latest reply he says "that heavy evidence (laughs)". TwoHorned is typically using this same expression, like here, when his sock TwoHorned was defending his sock Xinheart in the same RFC and TwoHorned writes: "as that of respectable scholars such as ... Three new TwoHorned socks were now found and confirmed at French wikipedia, which were mostly active at French wiki [33]: Betapictoris (talk · contribs) Shravan (talk · contribs) Bidibidibidi (talk · contribs). And Optimi (talk · contribs) and Addacat (talk · contribs) are possible socks (who seem to be socks of Shravan and also active at French wiki). There are now 26 confirmed and possible socks of TwoHorned in his SPI page (not counting IP socks).
Thank you for looking, Katie. TwoHorned has many recent socks in addition to his master account: Buzzor (talk · contribs), Shravan (talk · contribs), Matunga-mumbai (talk · contribs) and more. Examples of behavioural evidence:

  • Unamroma: "he/she says "his defence is typical of TwoHorned"... Waow... that' heavy evidence {laughs}...
  • TwoHorned: "as that of respectable scholars such as ... Reagan and Bush... mentionned in the article in its present form (laughs...)"
  • Unamroma: uses the word TP for talkpage, and calls the French wiki wp:fr
  • TwoHorned:uses the word TP for talkpage, and calls the French wiki wp:fr
  • Both editors argue that Guenon never "converted". [34] [35]
  • Both editors change the same category (see above).
  • Both editors defend the same additions and removals from the Rene Guenon article.
  • Both editors claim that I was (allegedly) making the equation René Guenon = nazi (which btw is not true) claim by sock of TwoHorned at fr.wiki, Unamroma (see his comment below)

Hi i came across this page through a message on my talk page. I am not a sockpuppet of user Twohorned, i let the checkusers staff to check that. I came to this René Guenon article because it was recognized as a very good one by specialists of that author, in particular french specialists and the article was a standard use among french students. It is likely that my account was created on the french wp since i am french, so what ? It seems to me that user Decakanrandaebonelm has vandalized that article for obscure reasons so i reverted some of his edits . See also the destruction of the work of user Gatti Fabien by Decacarandaelbonelm in the René Guenon article. It seems clear that this user must be checked: he is very new and knows everything about wp. Unamroma (talk) 17:16, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Last modif of Decakarandaebonelm sheds some light on the real motives of that 2-months born user: he/she says "his defence is typical of TwoHorned"... Waow... that' heavy evidence {laughs}... Update on August 20th: I took some time for 2 days to go through User:Decakarandaebonelm's contributions since her/his arrival on wp: It is now cristal clear that this user is a vandal plus a puppet: her/his edits are 99% destruction of entire sections of René Guenon article (example among many many others: diff see the history of that article for an impressive list) and the introduction of the equation René Guenon = nazi. To achieve that latter goal, she/he focuses on specific sentences in hostile and fringe sources, while disregarding standard neutral sources (e.g. in the last section of the TP, she/he despises P. Geay's on Guenon, who holds a Phd on the subject and is working in collaboration with people and academics both at University Paris1 sorbonne and EPHE). Particularly instructing is her/his denegation and destruction of User :Fabien Gatti's work in that article. After this CU is performed, I'll try to discover other puppets of that vandal, because I think that she/he is making use of multiple socks to instil POV on articles. For your information french CU has exonerated me of being a sock of TwoHorned: check where User:Dekacarandaelbonem has deposited (in approximative google translated french) a request there on wp:fr. On the "behavioral evidence" worked out by User:Dekacarandaebonelm :

  1. the "laugh" thing has already been answered and evaluated, I won't add here about that.
  2. more interesting is the "conversion argument". Actually, It is a subject of discussion long time ago, triggered by an article written by Guenon himself and entitled "About conversion" (see this article (in french). The polemic is also reflected in the bibliography as Guenon often insisted he was not a convert. No surprise the topic is raised by different contributors.
  3. "tp": appears as same level to me as #1. Won't insist on that.
  4. yes, I am now removing most of User:Dekacarandaebonelm vandalism on the Rene Guenon article, using the history and going back to the less vandalized version, trying to keep acceptable modifications of users like Gatti Fabien or others. I do consider User:Dekacarandaebonelm edits on the article as pure vandalism (just have a look, through the history of the amount of deleted content by the vandal). Illuminating.

On another hand, I think I have found the behavioral similarities between User:Dekacarandaebonelm and other socks, among the most actives on WP. I am preparing the file and will post a CU request soon. Unamroma (talk) 20:18, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Clear case of IP sock of User:TwoHorned, who is again reverting the page to the sock's preferred (non-consensus) version (see the article talkpage). On User_talk:GraemeKad he admits he is doing a "restitution of TwoHorned's version". Like the sock, he also uses the word "restitution" for "revert" (compare with [36] [37]), and makes the same absurd accusations against me like the sock did previously on his talkpage.

A couple more of TwoHorned's socks were also recently blocked on french wikipedia. Like in English wikipedia, these socks were also used to vote on the same pages. Dekacarandaebonelm (talk) 17:26, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
