Very obvious sock of a disruptive editor who is perhaps simply trolling us. This edit [1] makes it clear they are the same editor. Dougweller (talk) 17:13, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am pretty upset to find that Paul Bedson is the puppet master. He's obviously trolling and I don't think there's any excuse for his creating socks. Dougweller (talk) 18:37, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's worse. See the article he created 2 days ago Tempomania which simply says "Tempomania is a type of mood disorder caused by staring into the time vortex for too long. It can include symptoms and treatments that are different from those of non-psychotic disorders." Dougweller (talk) 18:52, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Note that Paul Bedson has now been indefinitely blocked. Dougweller (talk) 21:56, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An edit by Bedson today via this IP admits to using socks (IPs and accounts) frequently and states he will continue to do so. He is also offering to help other editors and may have done this in the past, see his post today at [2]. Can we get a quick check for sleepers as it will shortly be too late? Thanks. • Since Paul Bedson admitted quite directly to the use of the IP address, there is no issues with the privacy policy.  Confirmed:

At User:PorlBedson, PorlBedson identifies himself as banned user PaulBedson, and is restoring PaulBedson's edits.[3][4] Also worth noting personal attacks in edit summaries - calling fellow users racist. Dawn Bard (talk) 19:48, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This looks obvious to me - new user hitting on one of Bedson's original favorite subjects, the so-called Kharsag epics using self-published works to change redirects into articles. But a CU would confirm this isn't a good faith editor and check for sleepers. Bedson does like to flaunt his sock-puppetry (and shouldn't we remove his IP comments in the archive, eg "Of course it's me". A check for sleepers would be a good idea. Here ([5]) claims to have made an edit actually made as User:Moses Thebed, blocked as a likely Bedson sock (certainly correct based on comparison of this edit [6] with recent spate of page creation by confirmed Bedson socks). Using Hugo Dracs User page (and created a mainspace page, Doug Weller, since deleted) to attack User:Dougweller, whom Bedson views as his nemesis. A WP:DUCK, but given Bedson's recent history of running multiple simultaneous socks, Checkuser requested for possible sleepers. Agricolae (talk) 23:27, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like a duck to me - note also the creation of an attack page at Agricolae. Blocked and tagged Stromberg accordingly. Yunshui  13:39, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk endorsed. I concur with Agricolae's analysis of the evidence and have sock-blocked the Hugo Dracs account. I've added Moses Thebed as another presumed sock. Given this person's setting up two socks in such a short time, I agree a CU check would be useful to look for sleepers. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 01:49, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Whood was brought to my attention as an editor with an obvious pattern of article creation. Essaios - there are a couple of similarities that for me make a CU useful but this may be a coincidence. Dougweller (talk) 05:48, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked him. I'm still interested in Essaios. And he could have edited this page, I don't know why he said he couldn't. Dougweller (talk) 12:32, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't close this yet. I just blocked MayPlay (talk · contribs) as an obvious sock that was created a couple of days ago, there may be still more. Dougweller (talk) 14:46, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • NOTE User:Robin Whood has informed me that because the page is semi-protected he cannot edit the SPI page to defend himself -- at the moment he has left a comment on his talk. Secondly, he was not notified of the SPI, I have notified him. Mkdwtalk 09:57, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is no requirement to notify suspected socks, and when dealing with serial sockpuppeteers such as this one, it is preferable to not notify. —DoRD (talk) 12:28, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ranger Px is obvious - not only creating an odd redirect to an article Bedson edited but has a username related to another editor (Ranger Steve) who edited Vespasian's Camp after a Bedson sock added material to it (which as he's done so often before, misrepresented the situation). Joshuah etc's article is badly written but is a topic Bedson likes,, and I'm done with AGF before starting SPIs. Dougweller (talk) 11:20, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, forgot to add that Stonehenge mesolithic post holes was a blatant Bedson article, using one of his favorite sources fringe author Christian O'Brien, claiming that recent findings justified O'Brien and Lawrence Waddell's views. This was pure OR and Bedson must have expected it to be deleted. He's gotten his wish. Dougweller (talk) 11:26, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We have a new one, TheManWithTheGoldenPen (talk · contribs). One of his socks was Xavier Barden (talk · contribs) and he's piped Barden[8] but more obviously he's created another article on Niger the Perean (see deleted contributions of Essaios (talk · contribs)[9].Dougweller (talk) 05:46, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I note that User:JoshuaMatthewWilliamTaylor has responded to his talk page, claiming to be identical to earlier account User:JoshTaylor1998wiki , for whom a Talk page but not a User page exists and has edits on the same subjects dating from as far back as last July (although his edits from last year were not well-received). That doesn't mean that this isn't Bedson, but I could easily see this User being an innocent third party. I note that the edits to the User page that resulted in the block were made by User:TheManWithTheGoldenPen (clearly a Bedson Sock) and not the JMWT account, for whatever that's worth. Agricolae (talk) 23:48, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New sock Colonel Moon - recreated Ogbury Camp which was created by another sock, There Are Lies Everywhere, last week with the edit summary "re-occupying the camp, to Die Another Day" - he's deliberately being obvious. Tracking some of my edits and editng/creating articles relating to them. The edit summary at [10], "oh you'll have a fit" is aimed at me as it is about "a master settlement in the Middle East called Aaiha" - and pushing this concept was always Bedson's main reason for being here. I'm blocking. Another proxy to block I guess. Dougweller (talk) 06:20, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What I didn't notice is that Bedson has moved on to blatant vandalism.[11]. Dougweller (talk) 06:50, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And just raised a silly SPI on me using User:TheDalex - Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dougweller and also created User talk:Dr. Rishiraj Acharya. Dougweller (talk) 19:30, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wheelchair villain was obvious and I've blocked. Dr. Knanaga has recreated a page created by other socks under the titles Niger the Paræan, Niger the Peræan, Niger the Perean and Niger the Peraean. I haven't blocked him yet. Dougweller (talk) 09:04, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Emile Largo is another. Timing of account creation - other stuff he probably realises I know but I won't put here but will add by email if required. Dougweller (talk) 12:38, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Started on en-wiki but also active elsewhere.

  • preoccupation with fringe subjects as well as original research on lebanese and palestinian subjects as well as archeological subjects in these countries and in Britain
  • uses open proxies to create new sockpuppets
  • trolls and discredits other editors when problems are adressed by them
  • wilfully places fringe subjects cross wiki to create disturbance
  • uses translation software to be able to troll cross wiki towards editors
  • places copyvio pictures and sourceless files on commons
  • checkusered on en-wiki but continued afterwards again with many socks there and elsewhere
  • blocked on en-wiki and nn-wiki
  • denies socking and then admits socking - classical trolling behaviour
  • tries to place a wikipedia-clone/mirror site Everipedia on as many language versions as possible in conflict with the terms of use since he claims to be a paid editor of Everipedia. Also involved in the spin-off article IQ (cryptocurrency) where two accounts try to change the redirect to Everipedia back to an article that the first sock created. Same modus operandi was done earlier in IQ token MoiraMoira (talk) 13:04, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
