Shortcuts
Please review Wikipedia:Rollback before making a request. Successful applicants will usually have:
  1. At least 200 mainspace edits.
  2. At least a month of experience patrolling Special:RecentChanges.
  3. No recent history of edit warring.
  4. A track record of consistently notifying editors when reverting their edits.
The counter-vandalism training program is available if you wish to gain experience in handling vandalism.

I've been patrolling Recent Changes for a long time now and wanted to try something different: Huggle and/or AntiVandal. I haven't been extremely active lately, but my work should be clearing up soon. I've read WP:ROLLBACK and always try to warn editors. Since I started actively contributing to Wikipedia, most of my efforts have been reverting vandalism and RCP. I would like rollback permissions so I can use tools such as Huggle, and remove the need to open diffs in a new tab and manually inspect them. Five months ago, I requested rollback rights, but Admin Fastily rejected the request, advising me to spend some time on recentchanges, warn editors when reverting their edits, and gain more experience. I have diligently followed this guidance and now feel that the time is right to submit another request for rollback rights. I am confident in distinguishing between good-faith and bad-faith edits and always ensure to warn editors when necessary. Currently, I am also serving as an AFC reviewer and Pending Changes reviewer. @Jannatulbaqi I'm not declining, but I'm a bit concerned that you're a bit too quick to use semi-automated tools when reviewing edits. For example, you reverted this edit, when you should've just removed the entire sentence per WP:BLPSOURCE. You also reverted this one, but didn't tag the article with {{current sports transaction}}. --Ahecht (TALK

Thank you, respected Ahecht, for noting this. The first edit I reverted was due to a local slur that was highly offensive. Secondly, while reverting, I had asked in the edit summary, "where is the reference?" when I should have used the proper tag on the article. I've been doing RCP for several months now, and I'd like to request rollback permission so I can more effectively utilize anti-vandal tools to counter vandals and bad-faith edits. I believe I have a good understanding of both reverting as well as rollback, and what typically counts as vandalism, disruption, and general bad edits. I would like to have the Rollback rights permission if I could. I have been patrolling RC since 8 August 2024 and have mostly consistently warned or notified users for their edit or vandalism by using the tool Twinkle. I often stumble upon lots of vandalism and think this feature would help. I understand that the Rollback feature is only used for reverting vandalism. Sorry, wrong article was provided. I normally copy and paste the article name when consistently warning users so I don't forget. Requesting rollback permission to combat the pervasive presence of vandalism and/or edits of unencyclopedic quality to the best of my ability. At the present moment I am a semi-retired user; however, I have been a regular patroller of recent changes to both specific pages as well as the site as a whole. I'd very much like to learn the counter-vandalism tool RedWarn and/or Ultraviolet and get involved to a greater extent across the site in keeping pages up to editors' standards - I intend to be a long-term contributor to the site and expect to be much more active in the future, predominantly in this line of work. I've familiarized myself with WP:VANDTYPES and have encountered and attempted thus far to manually revert instances of controversial edits at times - edits which it would be far more helpful to all parties to take care of via rollback. I'd particularly like to delve into new ways to spot the more subtle instances that go unnoticed for longer periods of time, per WP:SNEAKY, as well as monitor for violations of WP:TPV and continually make an effort to practice WP:WARNVAND, WP:HTSV, WP:NOTVANDALISM, WP:RVAN and WP:NORESVAND among others. My most notable effort to prevent escalated conflict(s) would be in the Talk:Wings_of_Fire_(novel_series)#February_2023_Content_Editing_Conflict, though I do not yet have a track record of notifying users when reverting their edits beyond discussions on article talk pages (though this is typically as the reverted editor has tended to initiate the conversations first). Furthermore, I intend to prioritize diligently monitoring sockfarm-targeted pages in addition watching out for recent changes.
