User:Jsw663

Where is the issue taking place?
Falun Gong
Who's involved?
User:Omido
What's going on?
Omido engages in persistent section blanking. Page concerned has recently been locked to prevent edit warring.
What would you like to change about that?
There is serious dispute about the content of that page, but what I'm asking the mediator to look at is Omido's actions in itself (i.e. not the content of that Wiki entry). In the end all I am hoping is that Omido will adhere to Wiki policies and guidelines when editing. I would hope that mediation can prevent him from more edit-warring and 3RR violations after the page is unprotected again. I only want to use the ArbCom as a last resort.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
Not discreetly. My talk page / the entry's talk page will be fine.

Mediator response

[edit]
User:Omido is not responsive and appears inactive. Closing since mediation is not possible without both parties. I am all willing to reopen it on his return. — Tutmosis 16:54, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

I have taken up this case. To get it started I have contacted User:Omido [1] and await his reply. I asked Omido to list his view and opinion on the matter. Reading Talk:Falun Gong there have been accusations against him for removing content and inserting POV statements. As of now I am I not taking any position until all evidence is provided. Thank you and I hope we can come to an agreement quickly and peacefully. - Tutmosis 01:55, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tutmosis. As a mediator (well, semi-retired now) myself I usually wait for both sides to make their case before deciding, but if one party no longer responds, to postpone / abandon the case. I can provide examples, but there isn't much to mediate when the subject of this case isn't even 'here' anymore? Funny that after I file the case he should suddenly shy away from Wiki. Assuming that User:Omido will be coming back I was wondering if you could provide your side of the story. But due to him being inactive for sometime now I am closing this case down, I'll be glad to reopen it when he comes back and wishes to participate. Best regards! — Tutmosis 16:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
