Mr Senseless (talk · contribs) I've been here as a registered user for a little under five months (edited anonymously for a couple of months before that), and just hit my one thousandth mainspace edit not too long ago. I'd like to shoot for an RfA a few months from now, and I'm looking for some honest feedback of how I'm doing as a contributor so far, and some suggestions/ areas I could use improvement in. I am very impressed by your pipes doing the piece by Mozart! I was born in a castle a few miles away from Salzburg. At 61, I also like to sing till I stop breathing. Now that I have been part of a few Victoria Operatic Society's productions, I am rerady to head for La Scala. I hear they need a new fat tenor. (I better get a big pillow since I only weigh 160 lbs.)

With regards,

Right now, you look to be in good shape for a future RFA.

Your work at XFD looks really good. I looked over the last 6 or so AFDs you've participate in and haven't seen any "Per nom" comments, so that is definitely positive. My one suggestion in the deletion area would be to move to new areas of deletion such as WP:TFD or WP:CFD. Other than this, good job!

In the area of vandal-fighting you are doing well. I can't tell whether you are using any automated tools or not (I'll assume you aren't), and I would advise you to stay away from those. It's encouraging to see work at WP:UAA because quite a few admins don't undertand WP:U as well as they should.

Your mainspace work is going fine. I would suggest staying with one article over a period of time and getting it to GA or FA status, but if you prefer creating new articles or copyediting other articles then continue doing that. Generally, I'd like to see you put in more time actually editing article content, because many RFA contributors look for this. WP:AFC sometimes needs help, and User:SuggestBot could be of a great help to you.

I know you're on the list for an admin coach. This is good, but I'd suggest directly contacting a coach (It's really backlogged now). I hope my advice helps! Malinaccier (talk) 21:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I primarily registered in the first place because I wanted to get involved with some administrative tasks such as patrolling new pages and vandal fighting. This and copyediting have been my main area of involvement, as well as starting and expanding a few articles. I also proposed and started a positively received discussion for an additional set of notability guidelines for toys after noticing some trends over at AfD.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I was involved with a nasty AfD discussion about a month ago over an article about a church, and I said and did some things I regret, and will fully accept that I wasn't being civil at the time. I apologized and made peace with the original contributor, withdrew the AfD and promised to more throughly research any claim before taking it to AfD, and I'm also choosing my words more carefully in discussions before hitting save.
