From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hjorten (talk · contribs) I would like a review of my work as the 6-month mark has been passed. I would greatly appreciate any constructive criticism that may help me becoming a better Wikipedian. This is in regards to general style of writing, language-usage, and any smaller mistakes. Thank you for your time.Hjorten 00:30, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Hi, Hjorten, and welcome to editor review. You started editing this project on 27 December 2006, but you really haven't gotten too deep into the project, in terms of editing, until last month and, particularly this month, where you have made over 300 edits. As for writing errors, you seem to be doing a very good job compared many other users who edit English Wikipedia in a second language. You only had three spelling errors, which I corrected, and you can see in the edit history. One thing, however, that I would recommend is that you go to "my preferences", chose the "editing" tab, and check off Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Your edit summary usage is about half. Remember, even minor edits need a summary. It has been a pleasure working with you, and I hope to see you around the wiki very soon. Cheers! --wpktsfs 02:52, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I really enjoy starting articles about Danish bands, as I have done with Grand Avenue and Magtens Korridorer. Other than that I usually end up spending hours starting on one wiki-page, taking a wiki link to another page, and so on. In this process of greatly expanding my common knowledge (helps a bunch in Trivial Pursuit ;) I also find small errors, such as a space too much or a misplaced comma. I also enjoy correcting wikilinks to the correct pages, eg. from a disambig page to the real deal.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I've actually been fortunate enough not to encounter any "edit wars" yet, and I certainly don't plan on any in the future. I believe with at little bit of common sense and logic reasoning most edit wars can be avoided. Furthermore, the discussion is always the most giving part of any learning experience, so testing ones knowledge in a heated debate really concludes whether your arguments can make the cut.

Borrowed from Glen (talk · contribs), I'm sure he wont mind. These should test you editing skills, and show if you have any weaknesses which you can work on. So, just write your answer next to the Question. Good luck.

Speedy Delete or not:

  1. CSD1 no, this could become an article of some importance as he apparently is well known (not quite the boy-band expert)
  2. CSD2 speedy delete, spam
  3. CSD3 no, interesting concept
  4. CSD4 speedy delete, nonsense
  5. CSD5 speedy delete - not an established band yet

Vandalism or or not:

  1. [1] vandalism; no internet info on "maggie stapelton" so therefore it's the good ole "HI MOM, I'M FAMOUS"
  2. [2] vandalism; nonsense math
  3. [3] vandalism, nonsense added
  4. [4] not vandalism, just a matter of opinon whether it should be added or not
  5. [5] rookie mistake, not vandalism per say.
  6. [6] not vandalism. unsourced claims

Have fun! Dfrg.msc 07:26, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
