Falcon8765 (talk · contribs · count) Just curious as to how I'm doing :) Falcon8765 (talk) 16:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Reviews
- You're doing pretty well. For a contributions page almost entirely vandalism reversion, you've got some real gems. Have you looked into Huggle at all? Also, you may want to branch out a bit. Maybe new page patrol or new image patrol? Great work so far. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 01:56, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- I do lots of new page patrolling :), I couldn't figure Huggle out though so I just use TW :P. -Falcon8765 (talk) 21:01, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- You do not seem to know the criteria for WP:N, since you nominated someone with a NYT Obit for AfD. You might want to check our guidelines before doing further nominations of that sort. A good way to gain a general knowledge of how we work is to read, chapter by chapter, the free online version of Wikipedia: The Missing Manual by John Broughton (also available in print) DGG (talk) 06:37, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- I do know the notability criteria; I didn't know if the NYT had some local obituary section or not as I don't have a subscription nor are NYT obituaries referenced as a standalone criteria for notability. The article in question is Frank J. Remington, with the initial creator having an obvious COI issue as per his username, because of that I put a WP:PROD to help clear up the ambiguity and had this page vandalized by the author instead. Since my question was answered with an insult instead of a rational response, in addition to some ambiguity I had about articles created with COI issues, I listed it on AfD so that my fellow editors could sort it out. -Falcon8765 (talk) 08:27, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Questions
- What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
- lots of vandalism reversion, some article cleanup stuff
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Nope, I'm pretty mellow; if I have an issue I'm sure I can work it out in a calm, reasoned manner.
- What do you hope to gain from Wikipedia? And, conversely, what do you think that you can give to the project?
- Well, I don't specifically seek to gain anything at all besides personal satisfaction. Over the past several years I've used Wikipedia extensively and greatly increased my personal store of knowledge as such, something which I might not have been able to do without such an extensive resource. I figure giving back to that resource is a natural way of showing thanks.
