Semi-advertorialized WP:BLP of a person notable only as a smalltown mayor and as yet non-winning candidate in a future election. As always, neither of these are reasons why a person gets an article under WP:NPOL: deriving notability from the federal election requires winning it, not just being a candidate, and a place has to be much larger than Huntsville (pop. 19K) before a mayor is presumed notable in the absence of much more reliable source coverage than this article shows. Of the three footnotes here, however, two are primary sources self-published by the city government, which are not notability-supporting sources -- the only one that's media coverage is from a community hyperlocal, and is merely a short blurb verifying that he won the mayoral election in 2014, which is not substantive or wide enough coverage to make a smalltown mayor permanently notable all by itself. As always, no prejudice against recreation on or after October 20 if he wins the federal election -- but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a database of campaign brochures for aspiring MPs, and nothing here is valid grounds for him to already have an article today. Delete Not notable enough and even comes from a small town. Can be recreated if he wins the fall federal election. Kevinhanit (talk) 00:07, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
