March Road

Local municipal road with no notability. Article is completely un-sourced and tagged as such since 2009. I found no coverage in independent RS. The article claims the road is nicknamed "Silicon Valley North", but again with no source. In WP, Silicon Valley North is a redirect to an article on the region of Ottawa and its suburbs and March Road is not mentioned there. I would think this would have been the only way to make this road notable. The road is mentioned by an alternate name (Ottawa Road #49) in List of numbered roads in Ottawa so a redirect to that article might be acceptable but I don't even think that is necessary. "Locally important to a suburb" isn't how a road becomes notable enough for a Wikipedia article. There would need to be a substantive reason why the world would need an article about it. Bearcat (talk) 20:01, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete, unless significant improvement is seen before close. I'm willing to reconsider this if good sourcing and a compelling claim of notability can be found, but a road is not automatically an appropriate topic for a Wikipedia article just because it's locally important in its own local area, if there's no substantive reason why it could be seen as important beyond the local area alone (the same reason why we keep articles about provincially maintained highways but not necessarily about county roads.) The article would have to be a lot more substantive, and a lot better sourced, than this to become warranted. Bearcat (talk) 20:05, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
