This page purports to be an article but it is entirely unsourced. If it were a disambiguation page it would be cluttered with invalid WP:Partial title matches. It is not useful to the reader in any substantive way. There is also a disambiguation page, currently at DERA; I suggest that page is moved to the Dera title. Move. This is a common toponymic element, on par with most others desribed by the articles in Category:Place name element etymologies. I don't have the time to look for sources now, so I can't say if the topic will pass WP:GNG. Why not just move it to Dera (placename element) (as it's clearly not the primary topic), and, if there are any issues with the content, blank and redirect to the general article Oikonyms in Western and South Asia (which has a brief mention of the topic)? – Uanfala (talk) 17:30, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I ended up here looking for an article I created many years ago named "Dera (woreda)", which I thought was satisfactorily distinct. However, I find that a few years back it was moved first to "Dera, Amhara (woreda)", then made into a redirect to this page. WTF is going on? I fixed this silliness, but I'm worried that some well-meaning editor will change it all back. -- llywrch (talk) 21:09, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds like it wants to be a WP:broad-concept article, but it's unreferenced. Another possible marker to move it away from the base title could be dera (toponymy). --Joy (talk) 15:17, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
